go get elias lindholm
I think if history has proven anything, Sweeney is going to try, and future be damned.Sure, he can try. But the reality that sets in once 46 retires also is going to be that Sweeney can't really improve the team. He's going to go to battle less Bergeron, Hall, Orlov, Bertuzzi, Clifton, Krejci... and the parts that came in are what they are. Complimentary.
By the deadline his hand will be dealt. But it's time imho. It's time.
They're going to be busy when you remove Bergeron and Nosek defensive zone face-offs. Very busy...
On paper we could have a bottom 5-7 power play this year too. Doesn't tend to lead to great results.
People questioning Krejci's production (especially in playoffs) is insulting.
With a $1 mil cap hit, he scored at 0.8 ppg last season.
That is #1 among all UFAs from this summer. Ahead of Kane, Duchene, O'Reilly, Tarasenko.
I doubt he is coming back. But if he wants to, he is their best player at the position. This team has no draft picks in rounds 1 2 and 3, so they have no choice but to compete.
There is no way, no how, that JJ allows them to blow it up.
I don’t see it.
Agreed... i dont even think it makes that much sense. There is no way, no how, that JJ allows them to blow it up.

Unfortunately he'd be an excellent fit for a lot of other teams with much better assets then us.Have to believe they are keeping tabs on the Elias Lindholm situation in Calgary. Would be an excellent fit.
I'll have to come up with a new avatar pic #TooSoondone
Crazy how the Bruins are able to acquire guys like Lindholm, Orlov, Bertuzzi as a few examples with so little to offer.Unfortunately he'd be an excellent fit for a lot of other teams with much better assets then us.
They recorded the video in MayDoes anyone think Sweeney was blindsided by the Bergeron decision? I feel like adding all those veteran depth pieces seems pointless unless he thought Bergeron was coming back.

Drafts can be nitpicked all the time but the one draft I vividly remember was 2017 where lots of people wanted Robert Thomas in the 1st round and they went Urho Vaakanainen instead. Would have been the perfect time to start the transition at C and we see how those two have turned out. There's been opportunities to replenish centers but so far all wasted. You're missing the point my friend. The time to replace DK and PB wasn't within the last 3 years. It was 5-6 years ago. And had they started working on it then, they'd be in a far better situation now. I mean seriously, PB is 38. DK is 37. You're suggesting the team shouldn't have been looking for replacements when they were 35 and 34 respectively. That's insane. Once they were in their early 30s there should have been a plan. And no, Freddy and Beecher are not a suitable plan given neither is suited for a top 6 role.
He already failed to be a second line center and was demoted in favor of Erik Haula. Says pretty much everything you need to know.
I mean we acquired all those guys by trading draft capital, which we currently have very little of.Crazy how the Bruins are able to acquire guys like Lindholm, Orlov, Bertuzzi as a few examples with so little to offer.
Curious

hehe I see what you did there.Don’t sleep on Geekie, he’s going to steal Matthew’s lunch money. Book it!
Not sure about that. The UFA class is better next summer and you could possibly sign Lindholm without giving anything up. I’m not sure he’s the guy that you want to sign to a big contract but I’d rather get him for nothing if we do. Teams will have more cap space so guys like Ullmark should have more value on the trade market. I think patience is the best way to go.Which is why I feel there are moves that will be made. The worst decision is indecision, and all that.
Still have picks in future drafts.I mean we acquired all those guys by trading draft capital, which we currently have very little of.
That’s the great thing about draft capital. You wait long enough you get more. It's crazy what three 1sts and three 2nd rounders can get you at the deadline.
So whould we read into who is and isn't in this video at all? They only included guys that are still currently under contract with the bruins, like you have to think guys like Hall, Foligno, and Clifton filmed ones and were cut once they ended up on different teams. And the only lineup regular from last season that's still under contract with the bruins, and that isn't in the video, is forbort.
Bogvist - Zacha - PastaWith Bergeron retired what does everyone think they well do for center depth?
