Would love to know what Strickland's definition of formal discussions is.

I'll stick with the info from our own @DominicT

Second buyout has a minimum that you can buyout. Just over $4.5 million.

So, unless they buyout Pasta, McAvoy, Coyle, Lindholm or Marchand, it doesn't help them.

In other news, hearing that the difference of opinion with Bertuzzi camp is term and not $$$

Give me Scheifele as long as the Bruins can sign him to a 4-5 yr contract ext at 8 mil or less. This guy is a legit number one center and has been stuck out in winnipeg his whole Career.
Going to disagree here. Without being in the locker room, it is hard to assess all the rumors about him being a terrible teammate. But, having retired a few years back, I tend to watch western conference games a few nights a week. He is a player I really dislike. He is painful to watch in his own zone. Weak stick, lazy in getting to his assignment, always takes the offensive angle to contested pucks/areas. I'd consider him the anti-Bergeron.

Overpaid, maybe. Overrated no. You are thinking of Matty Grzzilik
Is being overpaid the same as being overrated or one in the same?

Krug is a power play specialist making what 6m a year for like forever

He is the definition of being overrated, let the Blues choke on that money.

Him going to Florida would long term be the best thing that could happen for the Bruins.
Yeah adding him to go along with Tkachuk, Bennett and Ekblad would be great for Boston, we wouldn't have to worry about getting out of the second round for years to come.

I understand hating players, I have quite a list with the likes of Heinen, Janney, Spooner, Kokolachev, Milbury, plenty to name. Your hate for Bertuzzi is similar to mine for those players, I personally don't see it but I understand it.

The anti Bergeron lol

I'd take a chance on him, his skill level is off the charts. Get him out of that toxic atmosphere where everyone and the brother seems to want out and see what a real Hockey environment does for him.

- If that Jakob Markstrom contract wasn't fugly, Ullmark would be a great trade chip to send to them.

- I think any trade for Lindholm or even Hanafin will have Calgary asking for DeBrusk. I like DeBrusk, but Lindholm for DeBrusk is a good swap for the Bruins.

- I think KDP was the one who floated out the rumor recently that the Bruins are indeed shopping Grz around the league, with Chicago being a team that was interested. I'd love to get that kid Raddysh from them. Good size and wheels, right hand shot, entering his prime years. Any trade of Grz has to have a plan in mind to bring another top 4 LHD back in the fold ( Hanafin? ).

- Coyle has to be an option for Sweeney to trade to make cap room. As long as there's a plan in place to get a top 6 center and bring Bergeron back as the 3C, trading Coyle would go a long way in alleviating salary concerns.

Except rumors are that he's part of the reason for that toxic atmosphere that players seem to want out of.

Three of those four would be pretty big injury risks.

Bennett and Ekblad getting broken nearly should have sunk them this year.

It'll be risky, allocating significant money and high slots in the lineup to guys that are absolutely going to miss time.

So, If the Bruins have communicated all along that they are interested in signing Bertuzzi like Strickland says then who the F*** have they "communicated" that to if not Tyler Bertuzzi and Todd Reynolds?

"Hey Andy, we want to sign Bertuzzi but we don't want to talk to him. Can you Tweet that in hopes Tyler and his agent read it and they get back to us?"

Panthers have significant interest?

"Hey Andy, we can't express any interest in signing Tyler Bertuzzi because that's tampering. Can you tweet it out in hopes that he sees it and doesn't sign with Boston before July 1 so that we can talk to him?"

I really hate this time of year. Not really. It's the time of year when I know who I should and shouldn't be following on Twitter.

No, a player that would be overrated is somebody who gets way more credit than there skill and production justifies. With analytics this has become an epidemic.

An overpaid player is a good player who teams overpaid for what they bring. In recent Bruins memory this includes Grzelcyk and Coyle as perfect examples. Both are good players, I may not like eiter of them but they are good but they are overpaid for what they bring. Coyle should be paid as a good third line 40 point center, between 2-3.5 million. Grzelyk as a third pair D 1.5 to 2 million.

Krug is overpaid but runs a power play well, is physical for his size, plays with heart and is a team leader. At 50% retained he would be a good addition. At tis point they may be able to get a third team involved to eat more of the contract
