Considering Hall and Bert were to of our better players in the playoffs I was hoping we would make room elsewhere. This certainly makes the Bruins worse.
I don’t know if there’s room for both. Still have Debrusk due for a raise.

I agree on Hall. But I feel like Bertuzzi is going to be pretty similar in terms of impact even if his impact is a little different.

I also fear how bad this Bertuzzi deal is gonna be. I think a post 30s Bertuzzi could be a real problem.
I was hoping for picks but hopefully one of the d they got is good enough to replace Clifton. I don’t know anything about them.

Last season Gryz had easily his best year as a Bruin and he STILL was a playoff scratch by a different coach! And now people want to bring Krug back too???

I’m looking at this Hall trade as “who can we maybe afford to lose (and still compete) and who costs us a good amount of money?”

IMO that list was Hall, Ullmark and Gryz. I suspect all of them could be gone. If they keep Bert and Bergy comes back, I suspect they’re a top 10 team.

He was only a scratch this year because this coach had a complete and utter nervous breakdown during the series. If he was in instead of Forbort from the get-go, or Jim didn't scratch him for Clifton in game 6 to try to pass the buck for Ullmark's turnover in game 5, the Bruins win that series and probably the cup.

Well you may be right but I’m not sure that matters. If his coach feels he wasn’t a great playoff option, like his prior coach felt, he’s a guy we should look to move if we can get a decent return IMO.

I still think his impact on the locker room/team approach/attitude would be great.

Yuck.

This team shouldn’t need any more locker room guys. They need players who hold up over playoff series, coaches who don’t panic and goalies who play under pressure.

Damn we did Hall dirty. He plays 3rd line, shuts his mouth and is excellent in the playoffs. to possibly be stuck in a rebuild. I hope Chicago moves him for assets to a contender cause he deserves it.
We did do him dirty.

I wasn't Hall's biggest fan, I think he had 2 "passenger" playoffs before this year, but he was a good soldier who wanted to be here and did whatever he was told. That said, he was a luxury to have ($6m) on the 3rd line and wasn't really able to flip sides.

Fwiw, I also hope they move him to a contender.

Folignos rights? Assuming there’s some tight cap space work done with this move (bonus or something)?
