Goal should have stood with replay.....sorry...he made an effort to stop and was pushed back, goalie also initiated contact.....no matter, Panthers got the win, just took longer.
White was there because he lost a race to a spot, and took a path to a position he had no right to. If the NHL allows goals caused by incidental contact in that situation, they incentivize responding to boxouts at the crease by sliding inside the boxout.

This is like people asking why fouls get called in basketball when both players seem to initiate contact (usually in rebounding situations): one has a right to their position, other does not. If you don't call loose ball fouls on players going over or hitting the backs of boxing out players, you turn rebounding into a dangerous full-contact free-for-all.

ok....understand the contact by both, but he made an effort to stop and went further back due to the contact by defender, he had position on the defender....pretty sure that contact would not have occurred without the bump and would have ruled that way. Either way though I do not think a fan of either team would have liked either call, but I still disagree with the call...

It was a VERY tough call. No matter what there would be complaints. I thought they would let it stand but as a dad of a goalie - clearly the right call was made. :)

The cats have the mojo right now. Only team left other than Vegas (screw 'em) without a cup. I'm on the bandwagon.

Going down the stretch, battling teams like the pens and these Cats for the last 2 spots, I often wonder now if some of their fans were saying they are not winning a cup anyway. I mean, a bunch of Pens are cup winners with (2) Hall of Famers and the Cats are strongly still in the hunt.

I watched thru 3 OTs and then gave up and went to sleep. Seeing the replay this AM I couldn't tell if Bennett knocked down the clearing attempt or if it hit the ref. Not a huge deal either way, but curious if anyone else had a better look and knows?

Otherwise, great game. Bob played great - kind of like Sorokin except without the 2 killer bad angle shots. As good as CAR is, they're going to have a tough time if FLA can continue playing good defense, just because FLA has more offensive weapons, seemingly.

Brandon Montour was a guy I always had my eye on as a potential pickup, but he's exceeded anything I thought he might be. FLA/Zito got him for a 3rd round pick and then signed him to a 3 x $3.5M contract. Amazing move.

"If we even make the playoffs we're just gonna get slaughtered by the best team to ever take the ice, and have you seen this year's draft class? We're better off getting into the lottery"

Richardson?

Do you mean Robertson?

If so, I mean, he still has 12 points in 13 games, so I dunno if quiet is the best description... Granted, only 2 of those 12 points are goals.

Yes, Robertson. Idk, I've watched pretty much every Stars game, he hasn't had much of an impact. He's put up points quietly.

He’s not going to waive his NTC.
Even more hilarious: The only team he would probably waive to go to (hint: his uncle is one of that city's all time sports legends and it's a 90 minute drive from Toronto) would have absolutely zero interest in him because there's nowhere on the roster he would fit in.

Logan Cooley going back to College, since he didnt sign with the Coyotes, is he still draft eligible next year? Does AZ still own his rights or does he play for highest bidder next year?

a gamble on his part but I respect the fact that he is betting on himself and wants no part of the AZ mess right now. Feel bad for Coyotes fans, this is where we were for the last 10 years.

I've been on this bandwagon a while now, hopefully it'll get more traction in sports. Replays that require slowing things down to fractions of a second are not needed because no player is able to perceive that happening in real time and it has no impact on the play.

The one positive for Carolina is this could easily have been 2-0 the other way. The bad thing is if you have to come back from 2-0 to win this its not likely you have much left vs Dallas or Vegas. FLA needs to try to end this in 5 but winning another game in CAR is tough. I think this may be FLA wins the series 4-2

Dont look now but the Florida Panthers are officially the odds on favorites to win the Stanley Cup according to the sportsbooks. If anybody was to tell you they saw that coming one month ago at this time, they are full of it. Crazy. Just goes to show you once again that if you have a chance to make the playoffs you try to make it, even if it is as the 8th seed.
