I'm kind of embarrassed for Gretzky. Especially when Bisonette and some of the other yahoos doing their schtick. It just seems unbecoming for someone of Gretzky's stature.
The Espn studio crew is a hundred times worse. They make the TNT guys look like Face the Nation.

A bit more speed, a PPQB, and a bigtime goal scorer. Hard to address, but not impossible.
I think that’s a lot of heavy lifting in 1 off season, considering our cap situation and what it could take to trade some guys out of here to open up the roster.

LOL! I don't care for either but seeing Gretzky as an analyst and doing sports betting commercials just seems wrong. Didn't see Jean Beliveau doing that.

Gretzky still looks uncomfortable -- and so serious compared to the relaxed impromptu banter of the others. He constantly seems to be looking off camera also-- like he can't wait for the segment to be over.

After this series, the entire metro bracket just screamed fraud. I hate that it could've really been the islanders if they just beat the Canes, because they take care of that team with a better powerplay, maybe we're in the conference finals. But sh*t happens.

Think a PP QB addresses tons. I mean, like Dobson, but the kid lead us to worst PP in the league. A reality that Lou and whomever must address. Can we get Tony D? Douchebag I know, but would be nice to see a guy walk the line and move at the point.

Funny -- for me -- watching all four teams kinda illustrates how far behind we are from solid hockey

Nah, the isles can take care of the Devils or Rangers. I just really hate the the difference between the isles in round 2 and being eliminated is a 1/18 power play, and Sorokin giving up that goal in game 2

At least the Panthers have the speed to counter punch against the Hurricanes aggressive PK.

Alittle more speed in our lineup sure will help.

Speed and PP QB are both huge needs. If Lou is staying, he must address both. Re-signing Engvall and working Holmstrom in would help the speed part, but it needs to be more than that. And getting players with faster feet is just part of it. The other part is working on moving the puck faster - that's on Lambert. I'm not sure if the speed thing is the reason, but vs CAR the Isles did not get the puck in deep enough - they continually lost possession in the neutral zone or as they were entering the offensive zone and made life easy on CAR's defense. Watching CAR's defense have to skate back to retrieve pucks behind their goal line vs FLA is what we should have done much more of - but we were incapable of doing so.

Also, anyone notice that the final 4 teams (not so much CAR, but more so with them when healthy) seem to be built with more of a top 9 than a top 6? They all kill with depth of attack.

Are you inferring they DON'T have an Identity LINE? Because we would be better suited to play them if we used the 4th line 1-2x a period. Our 4th line killed us this year. Why anyone thinks we should play Cizikas as much as Nelson, for example, by rolling 4 lines, is beyond me.

The 4th line couldn’t get the puck out of their zone against Carolina.

I'd rather see them regularly roll 4 lines but the 4th liners can definitely skip some shifts and also get pulled regularly for offensive zone faceoffs. The goal should be maybe 8-10 minutes 5on5 minutes for them. Some would get PK time too though. And our 4th line needs some personnel moves.

Cizikas should be on Barzal’s left wing in my opinion.

I’d rather see a fourth line of Durandeau-Parise-Fasching next year.

Martin replaces Johnston as a healthy scratch and Clutterbuck to LTIR.

That also could work since Barzy and Cizikas did have some chemistry.
