Mr Misunderstood
Must win.
Once you're knocked out and all your rivals are done as well, gotta go with "we lost to the Cup champs" spinzone

They're a good team. But, I see building your team around 4 forwards as a bit of a strategic error. If they swapped, say Marner, for a defenseman as good as Marner, they might have a different fate.I dunno...
My opinion is that this is the best Leafs team I've seen in a long time. Sometimes the better team loses. Of course I understand the frustration given how much they have underachieved in the playoffs recently.
Do UNC and Duke think that way in basketball? Yankees-Red Sox?Once you're knocked out and all your rivals are done as well, gotta go with "we lost to the Cup champs" spinzone
That's why I said "and all your rivals are done as well"Do UNC and Duke think that way in basketball? Yankees-Red Sox?
If Toronto eliminated us, I'd root for Pajama Boy to slip on the soap in the bathroom . . .
I agree. I don’t buy into the theory the only way to win is by sacrificing defense for offense. Nor do I think the Isles need to copy that style.I'm one of those dinosaurs who happens to think there's something to be said for "established wisdom". So when I see hockey teams that build from forward back, putting less emphasis on defense and/or goaltending, I kind of enjoy seeing them lose. So, thank you EDM, TOR, NJD, etc..
On the ice, assuming Seattle wins (I think Dallas will win), I think the Knights will crush them. I think
The Barbashev pickup was one hell of an add for the Knights. They score with any of their top 9.
Yeah, at this point I'm rooting for a CAR-DAL finals.
BTW, I haven't watched a ton of the Western Conference games (and zero DAL so far - hopefully changing tonight), but to the extent that I have I feel that a team like CAR would handle them.

The Stars look as futile around the net as the Isles usually do.
Good thing we kept Bailey.Eberle has looked so good the last 2 years for Seattle.
I was rooting for an Oilers-Panthers final, but with the Oilers getting bounced last night, I’m hoping the Meows win it all. Taking down the B’s in epic fashion and then crushing Toronto. Now they play a very good Carolina team. If they can take down the Canes, they 100% deserve the cup….definitely had the most difficult road to get there. Plus they are the lowest seed. Love a good underdog storyHope the Canes win the whole damn thing
Before the playoffs started, I thought they had the best chance to win it all. Such a well put together team, and it's really helpful that Benn and Seguin are contributing again. Now on the Stars bandwagon. Think they are the one team that can take down Carolina. VGK, perhaps, but I don't have confidence in their goaltending.
What is with the gap between the start of the next round of games, I seem to remember the isles having to play Tampa less then 48 hours after beating the Flyers.
That was in the bubble so they were condensing everything.
I was really just thinking that with the teams that are left they would want to keep the fringe people interested. the weather is getting nicer by the day and people have short attention spans. My own interest in the teams that are left is pretty low.

Chasing trends generally gets you nowhere.I agree. I don’t buy into the theory the only way to win is by sacrificing defense for offense. Nor do I think the Isles need to copy that style.
