That’s a pretty well built team right there. Hit the high picks when they got them, drafted well otherwise, supplemented the core with smart vet signings, and may have gotten their goaltender right when they needed one.

Everyone rightly gushes about the Devils speed. And they are fun to watch.

But tonight their defensive play was downright Trotz like.
Their coverage and zone exits were a thing of beauty.

Their D was incredible tonight. Only flaw would be goalie and they are not very physical.
