Honestly, if goaltending were better all season, Florida would've had a much better record. All the numbers say that Florida was a top 10 team, but Bobrovsky and Knight were not good during the season.

And if a career minor league goalie didn’t have the run of his life the last 15 games of the season the Panthers would have missed the playoffs and the Penguins likely would have made it.

From a "get it done" standpoint? Yes, I 100% believe Lou could get a big-time shakeup trade done.

My concern is who 80 year old Lou could be targeting considering his philosophy on roster building...

If I see Lou back and they bring up Brent Thomspon, I'll stop watching like I have done in the past. If anything, I've realized I don't need this team anymore and I now have grown more and more a fan of English Premiere League soccer and that's been far more entertaining than seeing the Islanders fail at addressing the power play for the 10th year in a row. It was unaddressed during Snow/Capuano/Weight and it's been unaddressed during the Trotz/Lou/Lane era.

Do you trust an 80 yr old Lou to get it done? Owners need to step in and clean house from the top.

I'm pissed at Lou for dumping Trotz, but I'm worried who we would bring in next as GM. If Lou gets a reputable coach and shakes the team up, I'm happy with that. No need for extreme measures right now.

Even if our PP scoring only improves 20-30% YoY, that's a heck of a jump. Case in point is Carolina, they beat us without their top three and although I dislike Brind'Amour, it's clear that he has a very sound strategy/decision making process for the guys on the ice. He literally beat us at our own game by constantly adjusting his lines.

On the other hand, Lane took 3 games to start genuinely switching up the matchups.
