Some pretty high end stuff here from Cristall.

His improvement this year hasn't really been captured on video. He had those skills last year, but he's more involved this year, play more physical and shot more, things he said in his interview last year that he needed to improve. He is certainly improving those areas.
The challenge is rockets doesn't have so many guys to support him and bury the chance he set up… Last weekend rockets only scored one goal when cristall wasn't on the ice.

Cant believe were gonna miss out on them man... Gotta hope for a Subban/Mcdonagh/Pac draft.

That's a definite possibility. This is a seriously deep draft through to pick 50 from what I can see so far, although it's heavy on forwards. I'm not overly impressed with any of the D.

Still early in the year.

I know it's off topic and probably would have been more on topic in 2022, but the 2014 draft was pretty incredible when you think about how it wasn't seen as a good draft back then, more like the draft between MacKinnon and McDavid. Just a slew of great players. Just none that ended up here. I think most teams found a top6f/4D/1G or multiple. That was smack in the middle of Timmins' impotent period.

Fantilli is Def going 1 or 2. No team is passing up on him with the headache of Mychkov and his russian uncertainty esp with that contract of his.

Also fantilli is prob flat out better and certainly is much bigger, a pretty big plus.

After 25 games we are going to have a better idea if Habs are going to miss one of them. Right now it's too soon. Allen isn't that good when he play a full season as a #1 goalie. Anything is still possible at this moment.

I'm still confident that Habs are going to lose more than winning.

Don't think the Habs will have top 5 in the 2023 draft.
We might end up late top 10 , #8-#9-#10
Between , Yager and C, Allen , wicth one you take ?

1- Bedard
2- Carlsson
3- Fantilli
4- Michkov
5- Yager
6- Ritchie
7- Dvorsky
8- Sale
9 - Benson
10- Smith
11- Allen

If we can get one player from that group, I'll be happy.

I think the same but I don't how owner who invest millions dollars on that pick will be ok with choosing someone who won't be with them before 3-4 yrs. Would be cool if he can drop

Probably pretty easily.. "do you want a guy who will be here in 3 seasons, win the calder, sell a shit load of jerseys and be a top line forward in the NHL.. or do you want a guy who might be a 1st liner?"

There's a reasonable debate for Carlsson and Fantilli against Michkov. I don't think there's a reasonable debate on Yager.

And for us, we should want Michkov to go ahead because it does seem like we are one of the teams with a policy to not draft Russians during the geo-political environment.

I do agree with you, I would personally still even take Michkov at 2oa but curious to see what other teams will think about it

He's a good complimentary player.. I think I'd prefer trying to fix Wood's skating ahead of taking Barlow. Wood if he fixes his feet has top 10 talent in this draft.

Not convinced about this. I think Wood is good but I also think he's not quite there in hand-eye (he's not where Slafkovski is for example), something that affects a lot of players his size.

Yes, I really like Riley Heidt, who plays for Prince George (WHL). He's worth a watch. He has everything you want in a center. Just beautiful to watch play hockey too.

If Florida's pick is late, there's some interesting power wingers in Lind (WHL) & Musty (OHL), we should be able to grab 25+.

Not a great D draft so far anyway. D will have to be 2nd round, and throughout rest of draft.

Not fully up on later round Euros yet.
What do you think of Ziemmer?

What do you think of Ziemmer?

Quick hands around the net, with a backhand he can lift. Not a goal scorer along the lines of flying down the wing and wristing it home like Pacioretty, which is why he didn't get an A rating from CSS, he also isn't a pure grinder like Gallagher.

He's more in the Brian Bellows, Jake DeBrusk or what Hyman is now type of player. Good energy and pace. Quick hands. I like him, but not a top 20 player.

I know it's the 2023 draft thread, but anybody knows anything about that Bill Zonnon kid? 16yo, 6ft1, 7 goals and 8 assists for 15 points in 16 games with the Huskies. Born in Montréal.

Should be eligible in 2024 but on his EP page it's not even written that he is.

Edit : Just noticed his birthday, he just turned 16 on October 3rd so he's actually a 2025 eligible prospect.
