2023 NHL Entry Draft

It's still very early to say that if Habs are going have top 5 pick or not.

Maybe after 25 games we are going to have a better idea, but after 9 games? It's too early.

I'm still very happy with the future of this team with top 5 pick or not.

Any good C/RD available with a middle of the pack pick in this draft since they can't tank properly and will miss out on all the franchise type talents?

RD : Brzustewicz (late first, early second), Axel Sandin Pellika (first round potential, big riser), Maxim Strbak (late first, early second).
With Florida's pick?

No chance we draft top 4. I think we need to end the dream that we’re drafting top 5 this year unless we get incredibly fortunate with the lottery. We will be drafting 10-15 overall, this team is not bad enough to be bottom 5.

I think we would need to sell fast Savard or Edmunson... or Dvorak to get a better pick.

At this point, they can sell Edmundson and Dvorak, but not Savard... he looks like a perfect veteran for the young D-man, we need to keep him. He is very very solid so far.

They might but Price did not screw his chance. Kreider might have. Other than that even if he intentionally played badly and the team tanked there is no guarantee that would have helped. There is no way MB could have done a competent rebuild. And if he was fired Dumbo Molson would probably have hired another incompetent.

So far I haven't seen any of our goaltending prospects take a big meaningful step from last year.

As much as NP is going to get mad at me.. we need to ensure we use a top 90 pick on a goalie in this draft.

I'm almost confident enough in our young players/pool where I'd use one of those firsts if there was a goalie to be had worth it. And trust me I hate saying it.

A big part of that is Hutson because I felt like a blue chip offensive D prospect was the missing piece. The size will be a question mark right up until he plays in the NHL but from what I've seen I don't think it'll ruin his chances. I think he's the real deal.

Another C would be great though. If we can get a top 6 C and a near blue chip goalie prospect out of this draft. It'll be a huge win.

Yeah I know that. But Habs are going to still able to grab a excellent player if they have a pick between 11 and 16. Suzuki, Caufield and Guhle are #13, #15 and #16 in their draft day. 3 excellent players, if Habs are able to draft a another type of that player, we are still in a buisiness for the future.

The best scenario is a top 7 pick, but i'm not really worried because 2023 is a really depth draft.

It’s a deep draft but we really a franchise/Elite player and not just a really good player. We won’t have that chance each year because they are rarely player like these available So yes it’s really important drafting top 5 and not top 10. More then any other years

You just know McCagg was waiting for the smallest thing to knock Bedard down. He'll keep lowering him as the year goes on.

Well, what we have is a very strong top 4, all 4 have elite level potential, Grant is allowed to have his favorite, I have mine, you have yours and thats fine, what I was pointing out was the way Bedard reacted tonight, which is what you want to see from a projected 1st OV pick... Last year the projected 1st OV never reacted positively to the criticisms.

My favorite in this draft is Carlsson, but I would be ecstatic to get any of the other 3. Point is, Im happy this year not to have to commit on a ranking, as I already said, I would never bet against that Bedard kid.
