It's fun .... lol
Wow that 2nd draft? Sidorov, Sotheran, Fisker-Molgaard, Rdstrom, Fowler, Gajan are all players I wouldnt mind picking in the top 60. Hopefully thats how it plays out, lol.

Carlsson Reinbacher Willander would be crazy
Assuming Smith is taken, we skip Mitchkov and are dead set on a forward who do you take— Benson, Leonard, or Yager?
Benson but the other two are great too. Benson just has a higher ceiling, imo. Though Benson is small and slow, the other two would fit better roster building wise, with that said with Dach and Slaf, theres a spot for Benson in the top 6.

Looking at the 4 teams ahead of us, I can only see Chicago taking Michkov. Bedard, Fantilli and Carlsson should all step into the NHL right away, but Michkov is obviously at least 3 years away. Could see a team like Chicago taking him since they probably have another couple of tank years ahead of them anyway.

Chicago is definitely the front runner for him imo because of the reasons you give. They are going to be horrific for another couple years and can afford to wait 3 years if need be.

The Sharks will go for Michkov for sure. It's only CBJ that wont go for Michkov in the top 6.

Benson.

Other two are really good prospects to have in your repertoire, but I feel like the Habs are still missing a foundational piece at forward and I do not project them as such; Benson has a much larger chance of being a day-in, day-out difference maker.

Chicago and Anaheim don't appear interested in Michkov...San Jose appear lukewarm about drafting the Russian.
Teams drafting at the top of draft see Michkov as a major RISK.
I would prefer...Carlsson, Fantilli, Smith, Benson, Leonard or Reinbacher.

He compares pretty favorably to Joel Eriksson Ek, who just had his first 60 pt season in his 5th year, age 25 season. JEE also had great stats versus his own age, but struggled in the men's league, although his team was in SHL. But, workhorse, two-way power forward with a great shot.

That was in the superb 2015 draft. JEE was ranked 20-30 in that draft, and was my hopeful pick for Montreal at #25. He went #20 to Minnesota. We took Juulsen #25, which shocked me. Thought we would take a forward. Beauvillier was the other potential pick. Aho of course infamously went #35.

If Michkov is able to be interviewed by the top drafting teams, and is able to attend the pre-draft workout in Buffalo and openly
reaffirm his intentions of joining the NHL.
If that were the case, the Habs can reassess
their strategy going forward as it pertains to our top seven pick.

Yup! My kind of player too! Florida was two points away from giving us #13 pick.

Love the kid.
I think we all do love him lol. Youd have to be a true knob to hate on that guy. Speed, intensity, skills, etc.

You know what? Wouldnt even be that mad if the Habs picked him 5th. It would suck that him and Slaf are the crown jewel of a (failed) rebuild but he would give us good hockey and make the team competitive sooner rather than later.
