Alot of people will look really bad on Dvorsky, just saying...
I mean from what i've been reading, most are just saying they wouldn't want Dvorsky in their top 6, which I feel is fair.

I personally wouldn't mind Dvorsky starting at 8, but not before that.

And then there are also horrible takes like these that make me want Dvorsky even less.

8 players over Slaf, I want the stuff he is smoking.

I am so damn relieved that Smith and Dvorsky have shown up at the U18s. I have to admit I was worried we had tanked and weren’t gonna get anything special. Seems like we are guaranteed a stud now.

Just need to win the lottery to make it all moot anyway lol
I mean, I'm not one that agrees often with Wilde but the whole there are 8 players this year that would have gone 1st last year, I get.

Not 8 but easily 5 or 6, so we getting a stud

The big four then, in no particular order ...

Smith, Dvorsky, Yager, Moore, Reinbacher, Leonard, Sale, Perreault, Wood, Barlow, ASP, Danielson, Cristall.

That is 17 players. So unless we trade the 17th overall, we are guaranteed two of those players. Its a very good opportunity to rebuild and add to the core. Its incredible. And there are still a couple of very nice prospects that i haven't listed.

There is easily 3 players. I don't think Will Smith easily goes above Slaf.

To be fair I preferred Cooley and Nemec in that order

If I had to combine both classes knowing what we did at draft year and combine them in one class I think Slaf goes 10th to 12th for me

Think it’s more likely Michkov falls.
I mean Dvorsky's current consolidated ranking is 11th. Scouting services have him ranked anywhere from 8th - 17th. At the time, it definitely seemed possible he could be available at 13.

It's all water under the bridge now because it took Sabres 2 weeks to sign Levi to his ELC, and Pens thought it was more important to trade for Granlund than a goalie.

Both missed by one point. We'll still get a good player at 17 if we don't trade it.

You might want to watch Dvorsky play and zone in on him. He has far better offensive skills, a wicked shot, he's already bigger than Danault at age 17, and he's physically punishing.
The shot is better I guess. But it's a heavy shot with a meh release. Yes he is bigger, but his playmaking is meh and is a strong forechecker. As for the punishing hitting, if he ever plays 20 min. per...he will have to spare it for special occassions.

I don't see him being more than a 40 to 60 pts two way C. Which amounts to a pretty solid player, but we need game breaking talent.

I'm still trying to comprehend Benson and Carlsson at 7 and 8 with Smith not even there it's like he went out of his way to make as terrible a list as possible

No one had Smith top 10. His u17 season was good, but not great. He was ranked #15 on majority of lists coming into year. Dvorsky, Yager, Benson, Carlsson, Fantilli, Bedard, Sale, Michkov, were consistently listed as top 8.

Smith had a massive development year, and started rising after he was consistently producing at a 2 ppg level.

Probably the least valid opinion on prospects in Habs media. Wilde is such a goof. Guaranteed he’s only watched these U18s.

Except Phil is a much better skater and thinks the neutral zone game a lot better. I don’t think you can compare the two, they are really different.

So was Perreault though. Wondering why one rose while the other was not even talked about.
