I was about to post the same. 4 assists by Yager tonight. He showed way more drive & upped his compete level.

Moose Jaw crushed Winnipeg 8-4, and now lead the series 2-1. Yager was far better & more impactful than Benson.

I still remember my dream last year of trading down with CLB to get Jiricek and Nazar unfortunately teams don't usually move these high picks for other picks

If Florida's pick is what it takes to get Dubois then you do it without any hesitation PLD is a beast you dont risk losing that for a #17 pick that may or may not make the NHL let alone be has good as Dubois

Dubois can fetch 2 firsts++ simply as a playoff rental. Why would WPG trade him to us for a mid first?

Pure rentals that are supposedly already planning on signing with another team don't get their market value.

I wonder if the Habs do a little dirty and trade down with the cats pick for a 2nd rounder and then deal that 1st for PLD.

We got a first plus a prospect for fkin Chiarot. Giroux got a 1st,a 3rd, and Tippett. Hampus Lindholm got a 1st and 2 seconds. PLD is more valuable than any of these guys and that's literally all from last year. Obviously the picks are expected to be low firsts and the team would expect to attempt to sign him to a contract.

I think Lindholm is worth more than PLD especially as a rental where age doesn't matter.

Agreed that it will be something like that because teams very rarely trade 2 back to back firsts other than the Hagel trade, but I do think it would have the equivalent value of 2 1sts. I shouldn't have put ++ though. A big 25 year old star forward has very very seldom been traded at the deadline, if ever. Teams simply don't allow them to get to that point. And I do think a team will trade for him to attempt to sign him.

I think Lindholm is worth more than PLD especially as a rental where age doesn't matter.

I don't disagree that Lindholm is worth more in a vacuum, but I do think his value as a player was very underrated on Anaheim before the trade and he was absolutely stolen by Boston. Personally, I don't think any team trades for PLD without the expectation and hope of resigning him so I do think the age will come into account.

I won't be shocked if Ritchie is gone before the Florida pick.

In terms of Yeger, I like him, great wheels, great shot, plays a solid north/south game. I think he’s going to be a good player who’s going to score a lot of goals. Not sure if he’s got true star upside, but he looks like a future 30+ goal guy. Can’t quite put him in my top 7 though. Like Reinbacher, think he’s more in that 8-12 range.

it will take a lot more than just the florida pick to get PLD, I would not add mesar/beck plus another prospect like kidney/farrell, remember the jets still own him and will get top value for him at next seasons trade deadline, no need for the habs to pay the price, speeding up the rebuild properly is keeping all the assets needed to get PLD 1 year early and only sign him as a UFA next july.

Hes been in my top 15 all year and it wont change, but to me he hasnt separated himself from Leonard and Barlow and I wouldnt want to pick either at 5.

I'd be extremely happy, he grades as a mid-first round pick for me. I believe he has become underrated since his production didn't pop off, but every time I've seen him I've liked his tools and he made me a believer that he can outperform his draft selection in the coming years

I don't see Ritchie making it out of the first round at all. His draft season has been mediocre but he still has enough traction with teams IMO. He'll be gone by #22-ish.

Yager is a very interesting option even at 5 imo. I can see the appeal.
