The way Carlson can control the play doesnt lie.

Carlsson against older competition (16) at the international stage (U-18, Hlinka 2021 without Canada) was less than impressive while Dvorsky was a really important piece. Carlsson might have grown a lot in the past 7 months, but would invite some patience, because the Dvorsky we saw at the Over 20 WJC was facing a challenge Carlsson has not faced yet.

I never had any prob with WTK, he never trolled me, we just shared a different view on some players in the last draft.
I never meant enemies. You can be adversarial without being disrespectful or trolling someone. Anyways you guys might end up convincing me on the Carlsson front. WTK already convinced me on Cooley so I know he's got a way with words haha

Yep and i liked reading both of you. Wasn’t hard for me because my favorite from the draft was Cooley and right after it was Slafkovsky but still lol!
We were pushing for different guys, so we thrown some jabs at each others here and there, but nothing below the belt. At least he could argue his points, so I appreciated that.

I had some issue with the zoom while recording, so the game was barely watchable, but here is a beauty from Carlson navigating through the neutral zone displaying great hands/speed and ending it with a beautiful wrister.

You boys are hyping Carlsson for me. What would be your NHL comp for him?
Best comparison I can think of is Alexander Barkov. Great size, uses it very well, hard to move off the puck, solid skater, great hands, playmaking and solid shooting skills.

That is so like Malkin when he was 17 years old.

That'll be tough again.

Arizona and Chicago will definitely be bottom 2 this year.

I expect HuGo to keep selling so we'll see.

MSL Habs finished with a 71 point pace FWIW.

I know thats a really simple way of looking at it, but they improved a huge amount than under ducharme, who I think was on around a 45 point pace.

They did improve but from the trade deadline on (after they lost Toffoli, Chiarot, Lehkonen, and Kulak) they were 5-13-2 (which includes 2 wins at the end of the season against teams resting their starters). In the off-season they lost Petry and Romanov as well, gaining Dadonov, Dach, Monahan, and Slafkovsky (who I can’t see making a big impact in his rookie season). All the players they gained have big question marks.

In addition a lot of the bottom teams (Ottawa, Detroit, Buffalo) in the East got better over the off-season.

It’s going to be a long season where hopefully we see players like Suzuki, Caufield, Dach, Slafkovsky, Guhle, Barron, Harris, and Primeau grow their game and ends with two good draft picks in the 1st round for the Habs to build around.

As a note they were on a 42 point pace under Ducharme.

Thats true, the wheels really came off after they traded lekohnen and Kulak, but on the flipside, it's hard to imagine that they will be as injury ravaged all year like they were last year, and more starts of allen, and less of Monty probably helps a little bit too.

Not that I have the Habs finishing anywhere other than 8th in the division, but finishing last again is going to be tough.

Matheson in, Price out all season.

Ah, is this somebody we may draft?

What is there not to like about Carlsson? Kid has size, skating and skill. He is one of the players that I would love if he falls onto Habs lap.

Barkov is a good comparison.
