Reinbacher has a bomb of a shot.

Eh in terms of power, I don't find his shot outstanding (from my viewings) but it's still pretty good. I also find that he tends to opt for a wrister instead of slapshot more often than not, which I don't have a problem with since he makes it very effective. The way he uses his edges to force the opponent to move their sticks to create shooting lanes and how he quickly locates his teammates to optimize his shot either to get a rebound or a deflection, is seriously impressive.

In my opinion he has perhaps one of the most accurate shots for a defenseman prospect in recent years.

Because claiming MTL shouldn't take Benson because they already have some small second tier prospects is the closest Ive seen to a Normand Flynn quote who'd probably go top 3 in a morons draft
I like Benson.
I'd love Benson on the team.
Based on things Hughes has said about too many small players, I'd be willing to bet we won't take Benson.
we'll see - still has nothing to do with my original point tho.

At the same time, they want players that compete and no one compete harder then Benson

He has elite traits. The question with him was character and he seems to have aced that so far.
The question with him are more hockey IQ I would say

He did a mistake, but I don't think character was a problem

Does the 2024 or 2025 draft have a better prospect than Bedard? Michael Misa?

More comparable to Fantilli than Bedard in 2024 & 2025. Bedard's cousin, Gavin McKenna is considered the next big thing in 2026. As a 15 year old with Medicine Hat Tigers, he had 18 pts in 16 gp this year. He's already a terrific skater, with a pro release.

What does Smith offer if he isn't scoring? What's his 'B' game?

If we're talking Smith v Benson at 5OA, the answer to that is much more critical to me than the 1-2inches in height. If Smith plays on one side of the puck, doesn't push pace with skating, doesn't stay engaged physically... he's just not making as big of an impact in as many areas as Benson.

Not sasing the forward core is much deeper, just saying MTL does not have a 1D yet.

Fox is bigger and stronger than Hutson. At some point his size will be a defensive weakness…
Fox is like 6 years older than Hutson, of course hes stronger and nothing suggest Hutson wont be as strong when hes 23-24. As for the size, Fox only has one inch on Hutson

I'd think about it for a quick second but it's 2 and 15 for me. Drafting Fantilli at 2 is almost getting a sure thing elite center, too good to pass up.

Now, a different debate would be:
3 and 15 OR 5 and 6
2 and 15 OR 4 and 6
4 and 6 is ultimate combo.

Any one of the top 4, plus essentially pick your next favourite. Can’t beat that.

Fantilli is what the Habs need the most

A franchise C that you can build your franchise around.

That is something that it’s EXTREMELY hard to find in the UFA/Trade market, so if you have a chance to draft him, it’s the best option for sure

Is 3 and 15 possible? Was trying to do different lottery outcomes- basically would it be better if the Florida pick moved up 10 spots or if our pick moved up to 2.

Great time for a rebuild. From 2023 to 2026, you have elite first overall pick.

Mack Celebrini is outpacing Fantilli production with the Chicago Steel. Michael Misa showing flash of greatness. You have Bedard cousin with Gavin McKenna.

Gavin who is already taller than his older cousin Bedard at 5ft11 at the age of 15. :naughty::laugh:

What’s the latest on Michkov? Is the Russian thing just too much at this point? Wouldn’t be shocked if he slides to us. The question is do you take him lol

Crazy, I almost hope we wait another year before grabbing Dubois.

He did a recent interview and said his goal IS to play in NHL after his contract is over. He loves Ovechkin & Malkin and wants to play in NHL. It's his dream.

He plans on being at the draft, and will provide interviews with teams prior through video, etc.

Kid has 3 more years in Russia I believe. 18, 19 & 20 year old seasons. Should be in North America at 21.
