Guys, just wondering which is more impressive, the best NHL season since 1995-1996 or a WHL season?
Letang was great too though. He even should have won the Conn Smyth in my book in 2016Oh I defininetely was wrong putting Letang and Keith in the same bag, that was bad formulation on my part. No issue admitting when I am wrong![]()
If they somehow selected But over Michkov, I will stop being a Habs fan.
If they pick But anywhere in the top 10 I'll stop being a Habs fanIf they somehow selected But over Michkov, I will stop being a Habs fan.

Reinbacher could be considered BPA at our #5/6 overall you pick him. Being big and RHD is a nice bonus too.I’ll be mad if we take Reinbacher with our first pick. We’re f***ing deep in dman pool. I know the « his a RD and we need RD » bs but we need more forwards.
We need forwards. Good elite forwards. This is a heavy forwards draft. Pick the best at your rank. Simple as that.
1) Keith probably was the most important player even with Chicago great offense. No way Habs are set on D they still don t have a top cornerstone D. Looking at last ten years SC winners :
COL : Makar (4OA)
TBL : Hedman (2OA)
STL : Pietrangelo (4OA)
WSH : Carlson (27OA)
PIT : Letang (62 OA)
CHI : Keith (54 OA)
LAK : Doughty (2 OA)
The two exceptions are PIT and CHI who had such offensive powerhouse (and great goaltending in the playoffs) they could compensate for having weaker top D but in their cup years, Letang and Keith were always key players.
I don t see MTL having that guy yet. Guhle has potential but he is getting injured a lot![]()
There's no way Montreal goes off the board for But. Besides, McCagg also said we're not taking Russians with our #1st pick.
Why aren't Montreal taking Russian? Protest over the war or something?
Primeau and Dobes both played 2 yrs in the NCAA after their draft year. Bjarnason would play 2 other seasons in the CHL, not sure I agree with your post. Cossa was really tall, but technically flawed and not the most combative in net. Primeau missed alot of hockey because of Covid too. With the signature of Dobes I am reminded of how bad I think it is to draft a goalie in the CHL. I know there has been some spicy discussion about him here, but I would hesitate to draft Bjarnasson for that reason alone.
Often goalies are not ready to play in the AHL at 20 or the team does not have space for them. The east coast is such a bad league. Look at what is happening with Cossa. I'm sure the Wings would much prefer have him play in the NCAA or in a European pro league.
I sort of believe that this is one of the reasons why american and euro goalies have had more success in recent years. They are simply given more quality time to develop fro a position that increasingly needs that time.
Well that's kind of narrow minded. War likely be over by time prospect is readyYes, that's the rumour.

Any update on Benson's injury? Out for the year or a chance he is back in playoffs?

First of all, we don't know if there's any truth to the Habs not taking Russians.Yes, that's the rumour.
I was asking cause I cant find any update..I thought he was out the year? In any case, junior clubs don't release much if any information on injured players.
I agree, but NCAA gives you much more flexibility if the guy is not quite ready after 2 years.Primeau and Dobes both played 2 yrs in the NCAA after their draft year. I think 2 yrs in the CHL + 3 yrs in the the AHL is enough for a kid like Bjarnason who is technically already very solid.
Im dropping Barlow a bit personally, not a huge fan of his feet, his game lacks dynamism, finess, creativity. Will be a NHLer and score goals, but more in a middle 6 role IMO.
I think Barlow would look nice with Nick and Cole, I take him at 14, lethal shot and good size. Not a play driver, but a really nice piece to add, I think.Barlow is fine if all you're seeking is a plug and play type, someone who doesn't improve the play of anyone else but finds ways to produce decently regardless of his place in the lineup.
But yeah, that's not someone I would draft top 10. Wouldn't do it top 20 either.
