According to the writer, Fowler is the best goalie in the USHL (before Hrabel) and probably the best in the draft
Official size is 6'1, thats a bit small for modern goaltending, also I dont think he is much better than Augustine who has similar size. I would have no issue in the third round, fourth round though. Im still watching Bjarnason to clear my mind on, has the perfect frame for the position.

Hard no!!!

Not a good skater, I would only consider him with our 2nd rounder and he is not likely to be there.
He’s only 3 points behind Yager and he’s on a team that isn’t good.

His skating is fine, it’s not elite.

They should relegate the two worst teams to the AHL instead of rewarding them with getting a good hockey player.

His skating is not good....it is below average and needs to improve for him to have a chance to play in the NHL. Why do you think he is rated so low despite his size and stats?

A chance to play in the NHL?

Yes, he needs to improve aspects of his game and he will. Why, because he wants it and he believes in himself and is willing to put the work in.

We'd be in the AHL this year then...

To me the skating isn’t the biggest issue, his feet seem heavy he isn’t quick and backward skating need work, but it isn’t horrible. the issue is that he is very bad on D he get beat one on one, very bad stick, never seem to be in the right position, FW seem to beat him to spot or get body positioning on him, he can seem lock up any one even when he on top of them he seem to be useless the guy just grab the rebound… On offense he put up numbers but he isn’t super creative play maker. He is good (quick) joining the rush, good shot, stick handling poised with the puck he is good at evading pressure, he will spin off or dekes a 1st guy and start a break out or give and go. Maybe is processing on D has improve since I saw him earlier but even if it doesn’t he will likely get pick at the end of the 1st because of the size and upside.

Honzek had himself a game, 2+1, scored the game winner with few seconds on the clock. Crystall scored a beauty and his offensive skills are undeniable, but the ugly was very ugly... Cristall is a late 1st, early 2nd rounder for me.

One of Bedard/Michkov/Fantilli/Carlsson/Benson/Smith/Reinbacher will be ours.
Might get Michkov at 5. But would Habs take him?

I like Honzek with Florida pick? Big Slovakian fits in well with Slaf.

Lol....? You realize the Habs havent had a single 100 pts player in 40 years?

This was the chance we had at a PPG+ franchise player, there is no spinning it or excuses.
Yea but even if we tanked “perfectly” and got 0 points all year, there is a slim chance we get Bedard.

You’re being unrealistic. And also, you’re not the only fan who has gone 40 years with no 100 point player, yet you’re the only being unreasonable

Would you trade for 2nd overall?! I think I would.

No, I'd just take Smith and Leonard, then we can reunite part of that line long term.

I'm really starting to push Leonard up my board, the guys on eliteprospects had chatted with him and he says he takes board battles personally. It shows. He's got the skill and mentality to be just a great player with all the other elements to elevate skilled players around him

Could also do Benson and Reinbacher.

I've had Leonard high in my rankings but then kept seeing him in the 10s, 15s on most and was really crossing my fingers we could land him with our Panthers pick.

Shit, it's getting harder by the day

If we draft at 6 or 7 and pick him, I wouldn't be shocked nor disappointed and would consider him long and hard there

I wouldn't be surprised if after the top 3 go, that who we think will go where may vary wildly. There's definitely groups who prefer Moore, those who prefer Smith and those who prefer Leonard.

I still have Smith ahead but those other two aren't as skilled offensively but are more well rounded in their play.

Yea I hear y’a and could easily get on board with that. Just think we need a more high end/elite talent. With Fantilli, we have 5 of 6 for top 6 forwards and I think they 6th spot can be filled with some internally (be it Farrell, Roy, Mesar).

It's gonna end up what the team is looking for

If they prioritize speed and skating, go Moore, if they want elite playmaking, they go Smith, if they want a coachable, leader type that plays a complete game and give you top 6 numbers while lacking elite attributes, you can go Leonard and be sure that worst case scenario his floor is safe AF

Smith at #5-7, Leonard at #13-16.

Wishful thinking for Leonard, but that would make a formidable 2nd line in the future.

Now you start to have some young talent in the future top 9...

Suzuki, Caufield, Dach, Slafkovsky, Smith, Farrell, Leonard... Then you have guys like Roy, Beck, Mesar that certainly have potential as well.

Not bad.

Boston College will be really interesting to follow next year at the forward position, with Gauthier coming back and the arrival of the full top line of the program in Smith, Leonard, Perreault.
