Uh they probably won't be. That roster has taken a beating and they still have to shed money.
No, they're not gonna give us a top ten pick. But them finishing in a WC or 3rd in Atlantic is a distinct possibility and with this draft, it's an equivalent to a top 10 pick in 2022.

Florida lost Weeger, Marchment, Duclair for half the season and all the guys they got at the TDL. They replaced them with plugs like Cousins, White, Stall bros, Balcers ect. Swapping Huberdeau for Tkachuk, hiring Paul Maurice and losing in 4 to Tampa are all factors that could play in our favour.Florida will be a top 5 team in the NHL again next year. Even a Top 20 pick from Florida is like winning the lottery. Adding another asset, especially in a deep draft like 2023, only helps the rebuild.

Just having another 1st is huge already. Thank god we fired that idiot just in time for 2023. Believe it or not he’s employed by another NHL team. Coincidentally his new team is headed for mediocrity and no direction - the LA Kings.

What this would seem to mean is that even adding a second round pick would be very cool.

It is always profitable to add a second round pick regardless of the year.

Funny, but I haven't been as impressed with him as others have. From my limited watching both Molendyk and Weinstein have shown greater mobility; Mackinnon superior defensive play and Price equal offensive vision. I think the sleeper here is Mackinnon. This kid is big, mobile and plays a controlled physical game that translate well for the next level. He will be rock in the NHL. Certainly a player I would watch closely and jump on if he falls in the draft.

Yeah it didn’t look good at all and his facial expression wasn’t good either. Let’s hope he can get back soon. I’d love to see a good honest competition in the top five and possibly for number one. It makes it more fun.

In fairness, it seemed like a clean hit that could have been much worse. Just the fall was very awkward. Too bad to see.
