If we pick 1st:
Pick Bedard
Trade FLA pick to Winnipeg for PLD

Slafkovsky - Suzuki - Caufield
Dubois - Dach - Bedard

Thats unreal haha!! Rearrange the lines if you want, there’s tons of options. Point is, it’s unreal!

Maybe a 3rd line of Gurianov - Dvorak - Anderson although I’d say very high odds one of the players would be included in a PLD trade anyways.

We’d have to find a way to make room for other players or package some up for help elsewhere.

I'd rather take Bedard and Reinbacher.

Tough to keep him out of the top 10, hed probably be a slam dunk top 5 in my years, but this isnt most years.

Fwiw, hes better than Gauthier was last year.
Mrb1p's peak paradox, Barlow a top 5 pick most years, but Slaf not even in his top 5 in a weak draft when he is a clear cut tier superior prospect, go figure out...

Smith had himself a game tonight. Two incredible feeds to Perrault, another nice play for a secondary assist, and an ENG.

Moore looked good as well with Eiserman and Hagens. Was trying to defer to them a lot more than he usually would. A lot less carrying the puck, a lot more one-touch and drop passes to the youngins.

Is he ? Theyre both actually very similar. Would Slaf score 50 goals this year in the OHL?
Not before being destroyed with his head down by some 16 year old who weighs 160. :sarcasm:

Call me crazy I think Barlow would be a wicked fit on this team, if he's somehow there with the Florida pick I wouldn't hesitate.

Hughes said today's presser he’s booking his trip scouting in Switzerland. Rainbacker?

How you experts compare him to Seider?

If I were the Habs and I end up with the 1st and 2nd overall picks, I'd take Fantilli first overall just to troll everyone. And then take Bedard with my 2nd pick.

You fellows all know I am locked on Barlow with our pick. He's my boy

This team needs some forwards with size in the system.

Can't just draft because the player has size, but team needs to figure out how to identify a forward with size and skill and start soon.

Boston likes a bigger, physical team. Ottawa does. Buffalo is just a big team overall and these are the teams that will likely be the teams you need to compete with in the Atlantic.
You obviously haven't looked at the prospects in a while. Here are picks that are 6 ft and taller. I didn't look at their weight because a player can always add muscle when he's in his late teens and early twenties.

Beck
Engstrom
Davidson
Nurmi
Mailloux
Kidney
Kapanen
Kostenko
Trudeau
Sobolev
Roy
Tuch
Biondi
Struble
Norlinder
Fairbrother
Heinemen
Smilanic

I'm not saying the majority of these players will make it but you said in the system and they're in the system. Now let us look at the Habs roster. Players 6 ft and higher.

Anderson
Armia
Belzile
Dach
Dvorak
Evans
Gurianov
Hoffman
Monahan
Slafkovsky
Tierney
Ylonen
Pezzetta
Barron
Edmundson
Guhle
Kovacevic
Matheson
Xhekaj

I think it's not size you're looking for but as Brian Burke called it truculence. And when it comes to that we have Pezzetta, Xhekaj and Edmundson. Guhle, Matheson and Anderson add some. So we may need one or two other players to bring that to the team. It's not as big a problem as you're making it out to be.

Lack of elite talent is the real problem.

holy f***, could you imagine? Fantilli and Bedard. the rebuild is over.
HF would completely meltdown - as would every single habs fan
Seeing as the Habs don't possess the luck of the Irish, Bedard will receive a career-ending injury in camp and Fantilli decides he wants to be a Franciscan monk after witnessing Bedard's horrific injury.

That'll really endear you to your franchise player.:sarcasm:

You are impossible, keep on being yourself.
Just do like me, mute him, the board is better. Not only his points are discutable, he dont know how to interact in an adult and respectful way.

I feel like Barlow could be BPA at our spot. (I think its fair to discuss him after the big four + Smith and Benson. He has a case.) And he could be a very nice complement to Nick and Cole.

In very good compagny. Produce like Necas in same league and same age. Very good player for sure. I would be happy if Habs decide to draft him in range 8-12. If he available with Florida pick, that will be huge aswell.

Nah, it's size and skill. I also said aside from dmen.

Also, Ep has
Beck - 5'11
Kapanen - 6'1
Davidson - 5'11
Kidney- 6'0
Roy - 6'0
Tuch - 6'2
Biondi - 6'0
Smilanic - 6'1
Heineman - 6'2

So, forwards with size. Some truculence and pugnacity and whatever the other word was would be nice, too

Our only forward "prospect" over 6'2 is Slaf.

Most of our forward prospects are 6'0 and under. There's nothing wrong with that as a decent amount have some really impressive skill, but we don't have bigger players playing well to support them.

Habs need to do a better job of finding those players who are 6'4 and can make the NHL.

The D side of things is looking good. Can't have the D fighting the battles for the forwards when things get a little heated.

That said, if you have a very talented player who's 5'11 and a forward who's 6'6 but can't do anything, take the smaller forward.

It's starting to feel like he might pass Carlsson on some draft rankings.
Ummmm, maybe not.

I think he’ll have a hard time cracking the Top 10 unless he knocks it out at the Combine and even then maybe 8th or 9th spot.

I think we are in for a lots of surprise outside of Bedard at #1.

Already the noise is that the scouts ranking is very fluid and changing months-to-months. Add the "it's not even a special draft outside of Bedard" talk lately and teams will be scrambling for floor and size.

Absolutely

I think some teams will have Mitchkov 2nd while some might have him closer to 10 then 1

Fantilli is almost a certainty for 2 or 3

Carlsson or Benson will most likely be 4 and 5

From then on Smith is the favorite to go at 6, you could also have a team take a crack at the last center with size in Dvorsky or go for Reinbacher

I think at 6 or 7 it fully opens and you got 10 players that could go from 7 to 10 and each of them can make a case for it

I just don’t see Fantilli dropping from 2. I agree we could have a surprise at 3 though. But a good sized offensive dynamo Canadian centre? Don’t see any way he drops. The closest natural centre at the next level to him is who, Will Smith? Yeah, not happening.
