And who was the Lemieux, Crosby, Mcdavid of this draft?

You realize none of Carlsson and Fantilli might be ready for the NHL next year? If they do make their team, dont expect them to have an impact on their team right away, both have things to work on.
I dont want to discuss this, Slafkovsky is a bad first overall and thus shouldnt be compared to other historical 1st overall, you gotta deal with it.

Slaf, Power, Lafreniere, Hughes, Dahlin, Hishier, you have there the last 6 1st OV in recent history. You dont have franchise level 1st OV every draft, thats reality, but you still can end up with a great player, what I expect Slaf to be in his prime.

It's pretty much 1 every 2 drafft. Hughes and Dahlin are stars and Hischier seems to get there.

Most seem to think Hischier is a good 2-way center with about 60-70 pts potential, thats still pretty good, but not elite. Slaf comes with a special toolkit and we will be pretty happy to have him in our top 6 when we are ready to contend.

I don't know... Hischier had a real good rookie season, miles ahead of what Slaf did. His second too before injuries. This year he seems to have an other gear. He is PPG I think and in the conversation for selke. I always saw a Zetterberg type in him. Too me he is better than a Suzuki, which is close to star status.

So, don’t start it by responding in the 1st place.
Someone claimed that every top pick in the past 10 years was playing in the top 6 of their team, I replied Slaf is probably the worse/2nd worse of all these. Nothing more nothing less, if you still want to cope and act like all is green in the land of Slaf, cope away, theres a thread for that.

Now can we get back to freaking draft stuff.

I don’t think we can diminish the importance of having experience in North America - the ice, the playstyle and the living experience. Hischier had that advantage and was also seen as more pro-ready at the draft. Slafkovsky is coming from Europe and is a project. Not fair to compare.

Wtf, are you talking about? If you ‘don’t’ want to talk about Slaf, then don’t, or delete your posts or discuss it elsewhere.

I’m not interested in defending Slaf, I never wanted him in the first place.

If you can’t handle it when conversations don’t go your way, I’m not going to feel sorry for you when you have a pout.

Don’t forget something with Russian players

We don’t even have a Russian scout
I mean

Well this is OT even though I stated 4 times in a row I didn't want to discuss it..

f***ing destined to be a middle of the pack team with no superstars.

What a f***ing gut punch.
Unless we win the lottery this year or next that’s the way it will probably go.

When we got Dach last year I thought they weren’t really interested in tanking. Kind of what they did with the NY Rangers.

If we didn’t have all these garbage contracts to clear up, they might have tried to make the playoffs this year.

The saving grace is that the top 10 forwards in this year’s draft are better than the top 10 forwards in last year’s. I’m more excited about the Moore/Yager/Dvorsky types than I ever was for Savoie/Kasper/Geekie

I'm not excited for Barlow and they've seen him a lot cause Guindon is down there.

2023 draft and we get a 20 goal scorer.. that'd be so Habs/

With a bit of luck, if we can manage to somehow get #5-7 OA and the Panthers miss the PO, I think it is realistic we have the opportunity to end up with Smith/Reinbacher, which could be pretty awesome.

If Kent somehow can manage to get a 3rd late 1st by combining assets at the trade deadline or at the draft and we can get Wood, oh my.

Smith/Reinbacher/Wood.

Yes, please!
