Mitchov is by far the 2nd best player in the draft and would go 1st overall in any other draft. If we have for example 4th and 8th overall, we can take Michkov and afford to wait for him (as we will have another high 1st).

Yup. Honestly, if they're pick is Top-16, it's a win. That means they miss the playoffs. We all believed this pick would be in the 20's (possibly late 20's), the fact it could be a non-playoff pick would be a win. If the pick is closer to being a Top-10 pick, it'll be gravy.

Boisvert has Musty in his Top-5.

Musty looks better than Geekie, but at top 5? Boisvert is sometimes on another planet lol. Musty is more at top 20-32 range to me. But he show more than Geekie. (I said Geekie because Boisvert have him #1 last year and #6 at the end).

With Michkov contract, that's really possible. Michkov can easily be picking at 2 or 10-15 range too. The talent is certainly a 2nd overall pick for sure.

If Habs draft Dvorsky and Michkov, it's actually a dream. It's like drafting Bedard. Having 2 talent like that... wow!

I can guarantee you that no scouts would take Dvorsky before Carlsson.

Dvorsky's a very strong prospect and highly regarded among scouting community. Not sure where all the vitriol is coming from. He didn't do anything to hurt his stock at the WJC either (not that a WJC should hurt any 17 year old's stock). I have Carlsson ahead of him right now but it's not a slam dunk. There will be lots of fluctuation in players ranks near the top between now and the draft. The only real slam dunk is Bedard at #1.

Depends if you think of a center who's good at faceoffs, good at defence and strong in front of net as complimentary when there are 5 of those in the league.

He's 17 years old. Wait until you see him drive a line at the upcoming WU18 against players from his birth year. He tore up the Hlinka-Gretzky tournament at age 16.

Dvorsky does some things better than Carlsson. He's a better shooter, and I prefer his play on the PP. On the half wall I think he shows a better understanding of what to do. Carlsson is the better player overall, and not by a small margin IMO, but he is sometimes frustrating in these aspects. He stays still instead of staying in motion, he's never a threat to shoot so the defence knows he's going to pass, and he tries to thread that cross crease pass even if there's an abandoned stick laying across the entire passing lane.

But yeah I think Carlsson's pretty clearly better.

Today is Michkov's 7th game since being loaned to Sochi (worst team in the KHL by far). But with his 2 pts today, he's at 4 pts in 7 GP with them.

If we don't have a top 4 pick and Michkov is available with our pick, I want the entire organization fired if we don't take him. You got 2 good 1sts in this draft and plenty of "good but not great" forwards in the pool, surely you can take a gamble on him.

He tore it up playing with a certain play driving and playmaking winger. He’s a good player, which is why he’s going Top 10 in this draft. But him vs Carlsson isn’t particularly close.

Dvorsky feels like a similar pick to Wright last year. Very likely chance to become a well rounded 2nd line center with 1st line center potential depending on how his development goes. I'd be all aboard taking a player like that if he's available with Florida's pick. With our pick I want us to swing for the fences though for whoever they think has the highest potential ceiling.


Whoever walks away with Michkov is going to be laughing in a few years though.

NHL Tankathon lists their standings by points percentage. So the Florida pick is listed at 10th, even though in the actual standings, Florida sit at 11th. Also, NHL Tankathon have updated their mock draft.

So according to their mock, Habs have Will Smith at 6th and Andrew Cristall at 10th. And they have Ryan Leonard at 11th of you want to go with the actual standings that Florida sits with the 11th pick.

Etienne Morin should be a 1st rounder. Top 21 is ok even if I don't agree with order. Perreault I'm not sure about. Ditto Wood and his skating. Barlow is too low.
