I personally value Michkov more highly than Fantilli and would take the former 10/10 at #2, but preferring Fantilli isn't that absurd of an opinion. Especially with the way Fantilli is dominating the NCAA. We're not talking about an average prospect here. However, I must say that I think Michkov is a franchise-level talent, and will be the type of player you build your franchise around.
I agree but if the future of my NHL franchise is on the line I’m not sure many can take a risk of taking a Russian player the political situation is hard to ignore also it make pulling a Malkin impossible.

Yeah, he did. He was better than how he's played lately, but still not an exciting player.

He was really conservative defensively, and was always on the right side of the puck, which is great, but I want to see some offensive skill too.

Definitely want to see more from him at offensive end in terms of getting down low, cying, controlling the puck. He's good in transition, but stayed on perimeter way too much, and didn't show much patience with the puck, i.e. he took bad shots over looking for something better.

Both were secondary assists, and his second assist was actually just a fantastic play by his teammate Beckett Sennecke, who is a 2024. He displayed some pretty sick hands on his goal.
Thank you the analysis. So pretty much the same way he played at the Hlinka. He will need to show more offense to go in the top 10 in a stacked draft like this.

Guelph and Cam Allen appear to be coming out of their funk. Storm have strung a couple of wins together and Allen was 3rd star the other night.

Something was really off with that club, as they have allowed the most goals against (103) in the league.

Allen has 2-7-9 after 21 played, and a damning -15 plus-minus. Those stats should improve noticeably if C.A. and the team have indeed turned the corner.

I personally wouldn't touch Allen in the first round with the players available ATM.

I think it's absurd. There was a clear demarcation between them 18 months ago and some of that difference was innate.

Extreme...I mean come on, if Cam is there at 15...you don't pass go.

Honestly I agree with you, I think Michkov would be PPG in the KHL this season if he were given the opportunity. He's an incredibly special talent, and I personally do not think Fantilli is close to him as a prospect.

We live in a different world from 18 months ago, and I think Fantilli has been good enough to warrant the consideration. An actual big centre that's worthy of the hype to me, seems like he has the upside to be a gamebreaker while having a game that should easily transition to the NHL in short order. Could end up changing my opinion by year's end, this is hardly set in stone, Michkov is a terrific player that I adore watching and is still a challenger for first overall....just have him third for the moment.

As for Allen, I think we're more opposed on this one than Fantilli/Michkov. He was fine at the WU-18, I didn't find his performance spectacular. His production on Guelph this year should be taken with a grain of salt since the team as a whole has been disappointing, but his play with the puck has been suspect at best. I don't view him as low risk or high reward, so in the first round I'd prefer going elsewhere ATM. Top 15.........I'd be scratching my head if the pick was made today.

I think that most would have Michkov over Fantilli the issues is that there are other factor at play right now, which increase the risk not sure many team that can take that chance especially at 2 when you have another player that is almost risk free…

He might still turn thing around but I don’t have Allen in my top 15 so right now so I would likely pass.

Was he fine at Hlinka or was he on the first all-star team?

Let’s say floridas pick ends around 15/16…do you think that’s too early to take Hrabel or Bjarnason, or do we trade down to select a goalie?

I have the same top 4, starting to watch some other kids a bit but not enough to end up with a list like yours. I will comment on some of them soon.

One would have thought they'd include Dower Nilsson with this group

Well, their 1st list was 25 names. They just added 6 more, so now it's at 31 for 1st round talent, which is unprecedented. Essentially, CSS is saying teams can get 1st round talent early 2nd round, so say top 40. Euros always get short changed early.

Just another good reason to finish at least bottom 8. That gives us 3 top 40 picks. If Florida misses, 4 in top 50. It would definitely set us up well especially with our 2022 draft looking pretty good. Could get multiple top line forwards, a legit goalie prospect and more depth on D.

It's a weak D class all around,

Allen is the best RHD but hasn't really played all that well this year. He's got a good shot but not really a boomer.. he's physical and a good skater, but is 5'11.
Reinbacher eats Allens for breakfast, Pronnman spotted it right. Great skater, good size, plays physical, solid at defending, great passing and transitional skills with good offensive instincts. I would say his hands are fine but not great, overall the most impressive defenseman Ive seen so far in this draft.

Haven't watched him really. I know of him but watching European pro for just one player is painful.
