The % of picks after the 2nd round who become top half of the lineup players is insanely small. There’s value in mining cost controlled depth too, either for your roster or as trade chips other teams will value.

I think they even had a guy just for the 1st-2nd round, it's the deeper in the draft that I'm starting to get worried. Carolina drafted Perron and Rykov with our picks, they took our lunch money.
