You can say this about any draft pick. I don’t know how you can judge a post pick interview in such a manner without some real bias going into it. He was the best prospect after Bedard. This is in its most kind interpretation likely about the time more than anything else.

Strange how the "best prospect after Bedard" got passed on by 6 teams. Maybe he wasn't after all.

I think Michkov was just not meant to be, I think there no way MG was totally ignoring him. I think that there was either no interview or the interview was terrible. We got very good players and tomorrow 2nd round is going to be exciting too.

Even if you arent drafting Michkov, I think reaching for a D at 6 with a guy like Leonard around is a massive mistake.

I would be angry if the sharks drafted Simashev in the top 10

1) I don’t think Michkov had any interest in playing for Arizona.

2) I think Simashev will end up surprising a lot of people

They don’t have a second round pick so even if it was a reach they may have not had a chance to grab him.

I have to say I am skeptical on drafting Dragicevic. I feel like the offensive d-man archetype player is somewhat easy to find in recent years and a solid one is always available for a somewhat cheap price like Barrier, Gostisbehere, DeAngelo, Klingberg, etc. I don't like taking a d-man with such problematic defensive abilities in the 2nd round and would rather take a defenseman who is solid both ways or defensively sound.

Michkov probably told Grier that he liked Joe Montana more than Tom Brady and Grier decided in that moment that he was on the do-not-draft list.

At least one pundit I follow confirmed sharks interviewed him. Obviously there was something (other than not being available for 3 years and political situation) that didn't give brass a good feeling.
