Have you seen him play much this year? I know he was hurt to start the season.
I've only seen a few games this year, haven't gotten to the rinks much, been in NFLD for the most part. See a game or two a week on my tv, but that's about it

Haven't seen any Quebec based teams outside of Gatineau

Would not be surprised whatsoever to see Mann picked in the ~4th+. Mann is probably the 1 guy in the org they will keep.

Donovan was ranked 81st in NA last year and we took him with 136th in the 5th. Mann is currently 52nd NA.

He’s ranked #52 so would be a 2nd round pick.

Wonder if teams let Trent take his son and OttWa gets him with their 2nd round pick

Ranked 52 NA, that's usually guys going in the 3rd-6th, not usually guys that go in the 2nd for sure

Mike Fisher was 52nd last year, went in the 3rd at 76th

Jackson Blake was 52nd in 2021, went in the 4th at 109th

Tyler Tullio was 52nd in 2020, went in the 5th at 129th

If he was taken prior to the 4th I'd be shocked

Have you heard about Lassis
Thomson and Tyler Boucher?

This year is a good year for goalie talent - there are quite a few guys that would get late first consideration, and who would be the best in the class in other years.

Damian Clara - 6’6” Italian goalie playing in Sweden.

Scott Ratzlaff - 6’1” goalie out of Seattle in the WHL.

Carson Bjarnason - 6’3” goalie out of Brandon in the WHL.

Michael Hrabel - 6’7“ Czech goalie playing in the USHL for Omaha.

Adam Gajan - 6’4” goalie - Was Slovakia’s starting goalie in the WJC.

Jacob Fowler - 6’2“ goalie out of Youngstown in the USHL.

Trey Augestine - 6’1” goalie that was the starter for team USA at the WJC at 17.

G Yegor Zavragin - 6’3” goalie out of Russia.

Each one of these kids in my opinion would challenge being a late first in other years. Most of these guys will be gone in the second round. I think this is the best goalie class in a long time.

Sens need a goalie and the new goalie drafting pipeline we were talking a few years ago hasnt panned out with Daccord and Gus leaving and Mads Sogaard being the Viking version of Pascal Leclaire

I like Colby Barlow LW/RW, he can play either side, has pro size & plays like an NHLer already, has a great shot & he's got a non-stop-motor & a very good skater. He could probably step into the NHL next season, he has 63 pts in 42 games so far this yr & he has the makeup of the kind of team we are building. He was selected captain of Owen Sound at 17 & has a high hockey IQ.

Colby Barlow — Owen Sound Attack (Team White)
40GP / 33G / 60PTS

Powerful skater that is difficult to knock off the puck- Can beat defenders wide with speed as well as dangle and breakdown 1-on-1 in tight quarters – Intelligent offensive player that puts himself into high-quality scoring areas with consistency and can finish from all over the offensive zone– Possesses elite finishing ability – High-end shooter (all-types) – Team leader and captain that plays physical and with a bit of an edge –An elite goal scorer that is not intimidated by opponents or physical play – Hard worker that can play both a physical and a skilled game – Highly versatile and a big asset on both special teams’ units – Impressive all-around package – NHL power forward.

We've passed up the more skilled player for the bigger tougher player consistently under Mann's tenure as head scout.
I wonder if we would take Michkov if he drops to our draft position; if so we would have to wait until 2026-27 season to get him unless he manages to escape from Russia and his contract. Most of the top 10 players are probably at least one year if not 2 years away anyway, so waiting another year or 2 for Michkov might be worth the wait.

Just saw the news that Bobby Hull died today. I remember watching him play for Chicago on TV and then on the WHA Jets for many years. He formed one of the best lines I ever saw play with Nillson at C and Hedberg at RW.

Some think that Barlow is already NHL ready & he has all the attributes.

Assuming Trent Mann and Dorion are still running the show this summer, Colby Barlow is the most Sens pick ever. He just checks every box for them.

In recent years they've always opted for the bigger, athletic, projectable player over the smaller, cerebral, hand-skills guys.

He is rated at #8 but many raters seem to rate Michkov higher, some in the top 2 or 3 of this draft. Waiting until 2026-27 would not be great.

I'd also keep an eye on Reinbacher, Honzek, Danielson, Ziemmer, Rehkopf, Lind and Stramel.

They did not when they drafted JBD and Tychonick.

He left me wanting at the World Juniors. I was hoping for more than he provided.
Lots of players struggle a little at their 1st WJC. He will dominate next year assuming he goes. He didn't rack up points 2g 3a but he has a lot of nice tools to work with. Lafreniere had 1g 0a in 5 games in his 1st WJC .. he was probably the most dominant player in the tournament in his 2nd year.
