2023 NHL Draft situation

Bettman all over the mefiactoday denying teams trying to Tank ...nobody loses games on purpose just to fail a few % points and thecweightrd averages do not guarantee any team will get he #1 from the worst 11 finishers..I am summarizing what he implied with his words...that it the professionalism of NJHL players to think they would deliberately lose games...etc...etc..

But Gary...you cannot rely on the "profesdoonalusm" of NHL players as a defense...

Gary,are you calling the Blackhawks professionals? THE purveyors of your NHL as entertainment and competitive teams when applied to the futility of sleepy no energy output from the Blackhawks in 2 consecutive games where they could hardly mister shots on goal and scoring chances ?Look more like incomptentent no shows...not entertaining...not professional able to play the game properly...not competitive..

What "professional "...maybe professional Losers...

Besides ...how do we fans know for certain there are not under the table incentives from the suspected Tanker clubs to reward for poor efforts as if the clubs really do want to Tank even for just a slightly higher chance in the lottery?

5 shots on goal at evens Gary...5 stinking shots only...in 60 minutes! How can you call this team employing "peofessionals"? Beer League players maybe..but even Beer League players try to win if losing team buying the rounds after the game...So beer leaguers try harder and show up more energized thN your so-calked "professionals" on the Blackhawks.

So Gary...not buying your NHL professionals do not tank argument.
What professional pride on the Blackhawks? Not seeing any at all.

I don't feel too bad. There are plenty of almost 40-year-olds that have health issues from their career but never come close to sniffing the $80M Brent has earned. He will live just fine.

Ah, fair enough. That's mighty decent of you. At the very least, I'm sure Seabs won't be too mad at you. For what it is worth, he is a hell of a guy. I met him at a wedding I attended as a plus-one and he had all the time in the world for idiots like me.

I feel part of the problem was Seabs (kind of like a certain captain) still thinking they are an elite player and not coming to grips that his skill and mobility faded. The moment he was scratched or moved to the bottom pair youd see a report from Lazerus' annoying ass saying how Seabs is upset and is pissed at the coaching staff with Laz basically agreeing with him.

If all the reports are true that he played through numerous injuries even after the cup runs instead of getting surgery then thats on him. Kessel did the same exact thing for his dumb little iron man streak instead of letting injuries heal and proceeded to fall off cliff. Now hes a bench player who wouldnt be in the league if he didnt have a semi big name still.

I see from daikyfaceoff's mid season top70 that Riley Heidt is higher than the consensus ...they have him at#12...see my comments on him in the Alk-Purpose Prosoects thread thatvI posted from observing the CHL NHL Top Prosoects Game last night.
 
What are tge Hawks NEEDS?

Some would say everything ...but in order ofprioroty:

1.Centers who can drive play...Create scoring chances...And score thensekves or set up lnemates to score.

2.Wibgers who can score goals ..

3 A 1D who is far better than S Jones defensively abd can score more goals offensively than hom.

4 Yong franchise goalie.


In terms of Centers who can drive the play ...this is how I see them:

1.Bedard
2.Will Smith
3 Riley Heidt
4.Fantilli...(more of a power Cebter)


2 way Big Centers who can score :
1 Fantilli
2.Leo Carlsson

Goal Scoring Wingers= shot and efficiebcy
1.Colby Barlow
2 Zac Benson
 
My first tankathon of the season got me the Blues winning the first overall draft pick, because of this I will be retiring from using any draft lottery simulator for the rest of the season.

So we vaulted CBJ into 2nd last with our win tonight over CGY and CBJ idle......but Yotes and Ducks both win..so no vaulting them ...though we have 2 games in hand still over Yotes and Ducks and 2 in hand over SJ who are only 4 points ahead of us in 5th last.

We need Anti-Tanker Stauber to be benched and CaptainTanker to hurry back into lineup so that we can lose again..

That's not the case with Mickov. That's not to say he's a pushover, but he's far from Ovechkin.

Not sure yet if he's worthy of 2nd overall, but he has looked better since the move to Sochi. More motivated now I think.

But if you're Kyle Davidson, that's a hard trigger to pull. You can't draft a kid and then after have him proclaim "Viva Putin". It's a PR nightmare.

I'm sure they'll do their homework on that front, but when you're picking that high there is more that goes into than pure talent alone. It's an investment for the franchise, and that player should represent you well.

Hawks should not be making picks based on PR unless they are drafting a potential rapist. It’s that simple. At this point in the rebuild it’s best player available. Not need. Not PR. Best player.

That’s correct … to a point. A players “PR” should be taken into consideration but unless it’s something really bad it should rate lightly.

I think it should somehow be possible for a booze distributor to work out a deal with A vodka drinking govt.

Seriously though, if you’re following the politics. Russian people are mostly anti Putin and unlike when other powerful leaders “ruled” many are protesting. (Unheard of since the 1930’s).

Pez doesnt care he does the same thing to Toews. Acts like he doesnt try even tho its just age and playing a hard game for 25 years.
