2023 NHL Draft situation

IfvtgecHawks inlyvgotcWull Smith thatcwoykdcnotvbecso bad . HE may be more certain of success tgatcLeo Carksdonnir Michkov....

Smith is an exceptional elite pkaynakibg Center....maybectge bestcskitvpasser in tge draft...Hecwoukd need only a goalvscoring trufgernan to form a dynamic duo.

He already has thatt sniper on his line in the USNTP in Gabe Perreault whilst is probably a mid-first round pick...

I wonder IF Hawks do draft Will Smith if they package the TB 1st and their own 2nd to movev up to mid -firsr to grab Perrault ...we know they already have chemistry together ...

Example of the dynamic duo tonight in a 7-4 USNTDP win Muskegon in USHL play:

WILL SMITH 1g 2a +3 4 shots on goal
GABE PERRAULT 3g 2a +3 6 shots on goal

Making a strategy to get both might be better than landing anyone else except Bedardxwas with our first then gambling our late first rounder from TB makes it and or our 1st pick of round 2 also makes it to stardom..

So if we do not end up with Bedard or Fantilli and we are drafting only 4th or 5th after lotto...we should look hard at Smith in those spots then try to package 2 or 3 later pickscto move up to get Perrault to re-unite this dynamic duo..elite playmakingvC +elite goal scorer but who also tallies assists at about same pace as he scores goals.
I THINK this woukd be a great consolation package of talent if we do not get Bedard or Fantilli in the 1-2draft spots.
I am less certain about Carlsson dominating games ....and too many uncertainties about waiting years for Michkov to come over or even if they can eventually get him over or if he even grows to handle the size handicap he has...will it translate to tte NHL?
If Hawks draft 6th after lotto then Smith probably gone ...eitger Michkov falls abd is still there or Hawks maybe trade down 1 or 2 more spots and go for Zac Benson or Colby Barlow ...we could still try the move up to mid first to grab Perrault move but then his future playmaker C would be Nezar ..

So it may not be all doom and gloom....maybe you do not get a Generational player kije Bedard or a "Big" franchise 200ft 1C like Fantilli...but
You could get a dynamic duo who can drive your offense and OR could get 2 wingers who a very good at scoring goals (Barlow and Perraukt)...you gotta play the cards as dealt then strategize how best to deploy your draft assets wisely to make the best possible future top 6 forwards...top 2 lines..

Zawaski says he heard from a source the Hawks love Cristall

Hawks sitting with 4th pick overall now...
REALLY BAD STRETCH of 2-21 has sunk their season but the rest of season has them playing 12-5-4...who would have thought?

Right now they’d be selecting 4th, 26th(TB), 36th, 58th(TB), 68th, 95th(DAL) and 100th

"Alright, you guys let's listen up...
We won a game yesterday...if we win one today, that's two in a row...we win one tomorrow, that's called a winning streak...it has happened before.
SO LET'S SEE SOME HUSTLE, LET'S JACK IT UP A LITTLE. (clap clap)
I've got a feeling things are about to turn around for us"

This team has been watching Major League 2 too many times on their chartered flights.

The inspiration from that movie is killing our draft pick.

500 dollars to anyone who sneaks on the team plane and smashes that VHS tape.

The first clip has already come true.

If that VHS is not destroyed I fear this 2nd clip will become true as well...

Doneghey will always heavily favour guys that play in the US. That's his domain. (the way he talked about Fantilli made him seem like #1!)

I wouldn't automatically assume that Smith would be the guy though.

I haven't really watched Oliver Moore yet but I've heard people say they like him a lot more. Even Ryan Leonard I've heard is a coach's dream.

I personally have to watch more of these three, but yeah I wouldn't default to Smith as being the guy right away.
There's a lot to like about Moore- 200 foot game as a center, great wheels, really good hands. Any time I've watched the USNTDP he's relegated to the 2nd PP unit and playing a 2nd line with Danny Nelson and Will Vote, neither are nearly as talented as Perrault and Leonard. Yet he's productive.

As usual, KBS twisting words. Zawaski said the Hawks "very much like" Cristall, not love him.
Semantics. Doneghey knows talent when he sees it.

Looking forward to doing a deep dive on him.

Zawaski also said that the Hawks aren’t looking for Cristall in the top 5. He’s a guy they’ll watch to see where he falls in the mid round.

Not really semantics. They aren’t as high on him as you are.

I don't expect them to draft him top 5.

But I do expect them to look for a way to package the Tampa 1st and move up for him.

Smith has the most skill of the three. Moore has elite skating and never quits. Leonard is a nice mixture of the two, good skater-plays with grit and can score. Any of them would be a nice add in the middle of the first round if KD can grab another pick or two.

Cristall at 18th. Musto going to weep over that.

Michkov….a conundrum. Basically the 2nd best prospect but with political warts. Will be an interesting draft that is for sure! Would it be not good to wait 3 years on him? We are not going to be close by then. Glad I am not a GM!

I did sone further research....in Chinese numerology 4 isxa very unlucky number...3,6,8and 9bare generally lucky numbers..

However this is the Year Of The Rabbit in the Chinese Zodiac...and so 4 joins 3,6 and 9 as lucky numbers vin this year..
Since and probably not good enough to finijsh 6th worst Hawks not goodcenough to finish 9th worst then gotto tank for at keastc3rdvorc4th worst pre-lotto which should bring us good luck.
Right?

Not I. I personally can not believe that if you simply remove a 2-21 stretch of hockey, their record improves dramatically.

Kind of surprised by the bold. I thought these were can’t-miss first line center types. It almost makes me like this description of Michkov better, “an elite goal-scorer and gifted offensive talent who projects as a dynamic top-line NHL winger.”

2. Adam Fantilli. At 6-foot-2 and close to 200 pounds, the University of Michigan freshman centre from the Greater Toronto Area has elite size, strength and is an incredible skater, one of the very best in the draft. He’s a shoot-first goal-scoring pivot with some bite and projects as a potential lower-case No. 1 or upper-case No. 2 NHL centre.

3. Leo Carlsson. The Swedish centre, who can also play on the wing, is a smooth-skating, smart and skilled dual threat to score and make plays. His 6-foot-3, almost 200-pound frame provides a power element to his slick offensive game and he, too, like Fantilli, is projected as a 1B or 2A NHL centre.
