It is not certain that it is Stockholm North that will get the quarter-final place. North and south will play best of three matches about which team who get the ticket to Umeå.
I do not agree that Östergötland is excluded. I have also seen many matches on svenskhockey.tv, linköping was not so good in the dif elit and at the beginning of the season but their latest matches they play more as a team. They can definitely challenge Gothenburg in the quarter finals, even if they are really underestimated.

Ok, i looked in the rooster in the swehockey app and "Stockholm" was the Stockholm North rooster ... Oh sorry and i hope that Östergötland is doing well in the TV-pucken. But i don´t see the same talent if you compare them with last years team and some other regions this year. But i hope you are right and i am wrong.

Folke Filbyter 2020 was a reminder of the work done in Flemmingsberg. Impressing that a small club can win this tournament again. But at the same time they push the team a little bit harder than the others. Right or wrong? Emil Szepesi, Joakim Engholm are two of my favorite players. I couldn´t particapate this year due to Corona no visitors were welcome. But i have to lift up some other names i noticed the games i watched. Number one talent, Anton Frondell (born 2007) Djurgården. I´m also keen on Elliot Stigrell AIK. Vincent Sandberg (HV71) looked good. But i haven´t seen that many games as a normal year. And maybe this should not be here on a draft prospect 2023 discussion ...

still anyone who thinks that Täby shouldn’t participate in this year DIF Elite Cup? 9 Täby players were playing for Stockholm Nord on TV Pucken.

I don´t think anyone said that they shouldn´t particapate in the DIF Elite cup? But i don´t think anyone was afraid of them ... If you take a look at the roosters you will notice that Västerbotten is dominated by Björklöven. And Ångermanland by Modo. An Värmland by Färjestad and so on. Many more players from one team in the rooster than Täby had in Stockholm Nord. But I have to give Stockholm Nord that they were a bit better than i thought. I ranked them third, fourth before the tournament. And now after the tournament i note they were the best team and the morale finale was the quarter finale between Stockholm Nord - Värmland. And Lucas Stockselius, Gustaf Kangas and Romeo Ekfeldt was a bit stronger in that game than Värmlands first line Elliot Ståhlberg, Elias Ivansson and Gustav Ling. And bit more deep in the rooster than Värmland. Småland and Göteborg did not play as good as i hoped. Småland can say thank you to Noah Erliden for reaching the semifinals. No we hope for a season that not ends here due to Corona. Who are the favourites to win the U16 SM?

"Deep in the rooster". Keep this clean, please.

from what we could see on TV Pucken, I would say Täby - 9 or 10 players were in Stockholm Nord and if you add Borna Kopac which couldn’t play on TVP, then they are really strong contender. Frölunda with Otto Stenberg, Dower Nilsson and Ludwig Andersson should be also very strong, maybe Djurgården with Munther and Petrini or Växjö Lakers with Joel Svensson and Jacob Sagadin. Unfortunately I think AIK is to weak even with Dvorsky to do something bigger. But we will see how Corona time will effect everything in terms of practicing.

And add Brynäs and Färjestad to the list and i think we have shortlist. But the Corona might mess up everything this important year for this group. Man of them chasing a spot at hockeygym.

Colin Lindemann from Switzerland will be an interesting potential prospect. He was pretty much the only one from his team in Zug who always caught my eye, having said that, to me he always looked like an unpolished diamond. That polishing might now happen, as he moved to Leksand in Sweden as of this season. He comes from a fully Swiss hockey family - so a gutsy move.

Another potentially good one from Switzerland "bubbling under" is Larsen Wachter. The kid's had a really tough life, but such a great character, great physics, strong on the skates, will fight his way through a brick wall.

So neither of them actual junior-stars, but potential is there.

Oh, and then there's the Meier brothers, Simon and Rafael from Kloten. Fantastic skating and overall offensive ability. For them the sky is the limit.

For all of them the problem is the same - Switzerland does not have the required level of competition in U20, to turn these really-really potential guys into serious prospects. Great example is Marco Rossi, he played most of his career so far in Switzerland - but was smart (and brave) enough to go to the OHL for 2 seasons before his draft age. Without that, I don't think anyone would have heard of him.

The next one who could potentially choose the same path is a 2022 prospect Jonas Taibel in Rapperswil. Exact same background as Rossi (VEU Feldkirch in Austria) - should now lift the clutch from Switzerland. I know his family is serious about his career, but I wonder if serious enough. Time will tell.

Is it safe to say Gruber is still the top Swiss prospect in this age range? He's playing so far advanced compared to all these guys, pretty good numbers in U20 already.

Neither I nor any other user on this board has probably enough viewings of those players to make a definitive claim. If you look at the fact that only Gruber has played beyond his peers age group and put up pretty impressive numbers so far you would have a hard time to make a case for anybody else than him at the moment. With the recent history of stagnation of swiss top prospects (a development that started after the Hischier draft and has befallen a number of players since then) anything could look different in two years though...

He might be, but I‘m just not convinced that even the Swiss U20 Elite - level is a proof of anything at all. I‘ve heard too many times about Swiss-raised U15 or U17 players going abroad and being amazed by the speed and intensity over there. Sweden, Finland, Canada. Just bizarre.

And yet, U12 and especially younger, Switzerland has some of the best in the world! Why is that? How can that be?

I´ve seen Colin a couple of times. He´s good. It will be exciting to follow him. And we hope the season soon starts again.

Not a fan of the American player Will Smith ? At least right now he's among the top Americans
