So we went from Michkov, to Smith, to Benson, to Leonard, to Reinbacher, to Axel Sandin-Pellikka... By the time we reach the draft, we may have people argue that we should take Hrabal at #5.

I love this thread though, everyday there's a new flavour of the week.

June 28th can't come fast enough...hahahahaha

Wishlist:

Matvei Michkov
Zach Benson
Will Smith
David Reinbacher

Just waiting for people to discover the true #5 pick: Andrew ''The Next Kucherov'' Cristall.
Some random afternoon on june 26th:

"Gavin Brindley is so much better than Cristall, I'd say Cristall's bust potential is higher than probably any other prospect in the last 13 years. But honestly, I'd rather take my chances on any of the two than Fantilli or Smith hahah"

Something, something Carey Price was picked at 5…

Funny what a year makes, last season Mathew Tkachuk was a playoff failure and now everyone’s scrambling to find the next one.

Who said that and English isn't their first language?

He is a very good shooter, maybe not at the Bedard, Michkov, Dvorsky, Barlow etc level but is good enough to be a plus attribute in the NHL when he gets there, much better than Benson who some still have close to him in their rankings. Given his elite hands/playmaking ability he is not one dimensional and can finish what he starts.

I think he is the least physical of the 3 players on his line as Leonard and Perrault are grittier and are more consistent with their effort. His offensive upside is too much for Leonard to overcome imo but I think Perreault is the real sleeper as his physical limitations are improving quickly and may very well be the best of the three but it would take some serious balls for a team to take that leap of faith.

Smith worries me at times as profiling like a soft offence scorer who may not be equipped for playoff hockey. I still love the kid as a talent but there is that nagging concern that I just can't entirely shake although he is way too young and inexperienced to put too much stock into such worries. I will still be happy if we take him as every player other than a miracle like Carlsson falling to us has a wart that needs to be addressed.

With Benson it's kind of disappointing that he's having a worse playoff run than last season. He's at 2 less goals and 4 less assists in the same amount of games played.
He missed the first round, where he could have easily racked up 10 points (Savoie had 9 in 4 games). Then he came back from a month long shoulder injury and only played top teams.

He’s a gamer, of that there’s no doubt.

1st part is fine.
I hope it happens that way. What Dvorsky can do Smith can learn. What Smith does, Dvorsky can’t learn. Smith and Dvorsky are a wash skating wise…. And I’ll take someone seeing 360 degrees and playing the puck like it’s a yo-yo over Reinbacher who does everything right but is too plain vanilla to draft as a 5OA in any draft. I do think he’s the best D this season but C’mon. You don’t get a meat and potatoes D over a goal-scoring puck wizard.

Thats why i ask the question.

But he was not on Michkov level.

SKA will present a bunch of millions to him to have him a couple more season.
the salary cap in the KHL is equivalent to 11M USD. He will make more in his first year of his ELC than his whole 3 year KHL contract

Oh the same people, don’t let them tell you otherwise.

Have liked Matthew for years now. Guy is just everything I like in a player. A Corey Perry with more skill.

In regards to Brady, I know my ranking would definitely change. I had him as a 60-65 point first line power forward, with the safest floor outside of Dahlin. League scoring is up, so that would translate more to 70-75. My appreciation on how a player like that should be ranked is way different today, especially in a draft that lacked easily projectable elite players outside of Dahlin and Svech. I put a lot more emphasis on compete, size, awareness and play around the net now. A guy like Wahsltrom would have plummeted on my list. A guy like Tkachuk would have shot up. He was comically low on my list, especially the way I projected him, it made no sense. Well, it did, it was bias. I still like Matthew way more though.

Ya the Wahlstrom love was comical. Some here even thought he’d out produce Brady lol

Reminds me of a bet I made… hmm

The most skilled
