agreed, Dvorsky is interesting but it's still a risky pick, 10-15 for meDvorsky's good. Not a top 5 player in this draft though.

In two years, that pair would be dominant imo.Guhle-Seider pairing wouldn't be fair for the Atlantic Division in a few years
For me he is the number 2 pick of this draft.God I want Carlsson so f***ing bad
Hopefully he's in that kekalainen mindset about his own country menCarlsson is out of reach, as he should tbh.
One of CBJ's top staffer is Sweden's GM, and on the off-chance that they pass on him (which I don't see) then SJS has gone with Swedes as their last two 1st rounders so I just don't see them not pick him.
I agree but I have a tiny bit of copium around the idea that the Sharks are essentially locked in to another 3 years of tanking and might be convinced to swing for the fences on Michkov with the knowledge they'll have another 3 high picks coming up to get a center in a future draft.Real talk, Carlsson won't be there at 5.
All top 4 teams need a center. Maybe he "drops" from 3 to 4 if CLB gets cute with Smith, but that's it.
Again, just pick the 5th guy from that list. Done. Easy peasy.Montreal can't make anything easy.
I would never want someone to get hurt but Carlsson getting sick or something and missing the WC would be a god send. He's going to play himself way out of our draft range.
The AGM is director of pro scouting for CBS. All though they will take his opinion for sure, he's not the one making decision at the draft tableCarlsson is out of reach, as he should tbh.

I feel like alot will depend on the world championships. Smith raised his stock heavily at the U18s, if Carlsson has a lackluster tournament then I could see Smith edging him out on some lists.Jarmo passed on Puujujarvi when he was consensus number 3 pick in 2016. I don’t think he cares that the pro scout is the GM of team Sweden enough to make him take Carlsson just because of that. He also went way off the board with Chinakhov so he doesn’t have any predictable trend
We never know even if I would be surprise tooReal talk, Carlsson won't be there at 5.

I refuse to believe he'll be available at 5 so I don't get my hopes up.God I want Carlsson so f***ing bad
1st OA, but Slaf would've been a strong challengerWhere does the hivemind here think Smith would have been picked last year ?
Good question, I personally prefer Logan Cooley then Smith but some who are higher on Smith then me could tell you that they would take #1 and I would't argue that muchWhere does the hivemind here think Smith would have been picked last year ?
I mean, they likely will, but then SJ takes Carlsson...no matter what we are stuck with the Michkov or everyone else debate.Come on TT, you own us one for 10 years of bad drafting
Take Will Smith !
Jarmo loves to go wild or to reach sometimes but Carlsson is a need and he's got a foot in the door already. The AGM is director of pro scouting for CBS. All though they will take his opinion for sure, he's not the one making decision at the draft table
I do think SJ plan to take the Michkov gamble, he make way to much sense for them.I mean, they likely will, but then SJ takes Carlsson...no matter what we are stuck with the Michkov or everyone else debate.
Yes, they 100% should draft Carlsson. Just hoppingJarmo loves to go wild or to reach sometimes but Carlsson is a need and he's got a foot in the door already.
We've seen crazy stuff in the past but really, Carlsson at 5 is just some wishful thinking.
It’s interesting. Comparing Cooley to Smith, I know Smith has the edge production wise, but Cooley probably edges Smith traits wise (comparable skill levels, but Cooley definitely gets the edge for skating and compete level). The argument for Smith is his hockey sense is pretty unreal. I think he and Dvorsky are roughly the same tier as the top guys last year.Where does the hivemind here think Smith would have been picked last year ?
NHL scouts that contribute to Bob Mackenzie rankings disagree with you. Some ranked him #2 OA.I hate #5, there is not a TOP 5 , it's a TOP 4 .
Smith as nothing to do with the other 4
