Perreault isn't bad but he's another undersized, not great skater. That line had such synergy that 1+1+1 = 5 vice 3
Well, Benson is even lower and also seems to be not an elite skater. I'm not trying to pump up Perreault's tires right now, I just don't know much about him. Someone thinks he'll be stealing the draft.

I don’t have great reasons lined up for why I don’t like Perreault as much as other guys. it’s just a gut thing and who excited me. Last year I was excited about Cooley, Savoie, Kulich, Jiricek, McGroarty and Hutson. I was colder on Wright, Lambert and Geekie but they might be great…just not players I was particularly into. This year I‘m excited about Benson and Simashev (outside of the obvious top top guys). Colder on Perreault, ASP, Cristall, Yager and Danielson. Maybe they’re great too…I just don’t really get into them. Most of the middle of the round is guys who I’m like…yeah, fine. Barlow, Moore, But, Wood, even Willander. Yeah. Fine. I don’t know who’s going to be good. I know who I want to see in a Sabres sweater lol.

Perreault and Cristall are almost mirror prospects. The issue right now is that neither have a use outside the top 6 as they play a very one dimensional game. They're way too boom or bust as you're looking at a top 6 player or AHL tweener. Your Barlow, Danielson type prospects at worse have the defensive chops and inclination to contribute on a checking line

It will be funny if Adams takes Perreault. :naughty:

Although I would prefer Wood in that case.

I've expressed before that I hope they steer well-clear of Cristall. I've seen the stat folks going in on data about his attempted and completed high-danger passes being so high and yet, I didn't see someone who makes pro-style plays. It feels like there is so much work to do to bring his game to a point where it would be capable as a professional.

Perreault for me is about the lack of size. This team is Augustus Gloop'd on small, 1-way forwards. Enough.

Thoughts on Dvorsky?

I'm trying to think about worst case scenarios and one of them is that Simashev, Wallander, Reinbacher, Moore, Benson are all gone.

Dvorsky gives me some Anton lundell vibes, but I'm wondering what those of you who are more tuned in think of him.

Pro style center who looks like he'll have good defensive chops and can really shoot the puck. Not big but not small either, might slot nicely as a more traditional 3C in a matchup/defensive role or give them some flexibility in the middle of the lineup behind Thompson/Cozens.

i just don’t love this draft after the top like everyone else does. I’ve spent months trying to see what they see. I don’t. On top I do. But that’s not depth…that’s an elite top. I’m not more excited about 13 this year than I was 16 last year. I’m less excited about the second round this year than last year…although they’re unlikely to disappoint me as much with what they do in round 2 this year.
