All I care about is the NHL projection.

There are maybe 30-40 goalies in the league worth their salt. It's an incredibly difficult and exclusive club to crack, and only the truly elite almost ever have a chance.

You can go down the list of active and past NHL goaltenders who've had reasonable success in the league. It's pretty eye-opening what their stats looked like in juniors.

These days you can find a goalie anywhere. There are always decent goalies available. Not sure I would draft more than one.

He's also really early in his development. He played u17 in Siberia and not in MHL. I have no clue how they found him all the way up there. It's literally north pole territory.

Bobrov has connections in Russia. I'd like to say maybe his dad's secretly on our payroll but I don't think there's any way to get money into Russia right now. Bobrov has likely talked to a lot of hockey people in his old motherland.

The draft of Russians sealed it for me. There’s pea brain idiots running this club. They drafted all the arguments against Michkov in other players. If Wayne Gretzky had a contract in the WHA (he did) of 3 years. Would you not draft him?

One way to not be disappointed by your teams draft is to not follow draft eligible prospects or come up with your own draft rankings.

These are Halak's draft year stats as a 9th round pick. THAT's what a late round success story for goaltenders looks like pretty much every time.

You're more likely to hit on a Jonathan Quick hidden away with elite stats in an obscure prep league than a goalie with mediocre stats in a top league.

Exactly. Character, competitiveness and attitude are factored in BPA. 100% of the hockey world outside their 90 ftx 90ft room had Michkov way ahead as BPA. The top 3 guys responsible should have that hung around their neck every time they go for an employment opportunity with any hockey team for the rest of their career.
