I would have expected Michkov to go earlier if that was the case.

I mean they straight up said they passed because they never got to see him play live.

You want them to draft him based on what? Highlight videos?

What if Bobrov's dad told him "don't draft this guy, he's extending with SKA?" We don't know what kind of information they had access to. We do know at minimum they had access to all the same information you and the internet scouts did, and still saw it differently. So unless you're claiming to know better, I'm not sure what more there is to say.
There are full games online, unless he's going to the bench, shooting heroin and stomping on a puppy off camera I don't give two ****s about seeing him live.

Only one team saw Datsyuk live, if they'd had access to video do you think it would have been a good idea to pass on him because they couldn't fly out there?

Bobrov's dad works for Michkov's parent KHL team. Bobrov knows a lot about the kid personally. Maybe not quite as much as Kennerback and BenchBrawl though.

Doesn't really matter what rational you use with that guy, he's never happy anyways. Check out the "tank threads" and you'll see how miserable he is no matter what moves are made.

Should I now be scared all the Russians we’re drafting will be killed by shells in Ukraine, or are they immune to it, BTW I looked for Bobrov’s father on the SKA roster. I could only find him as a scout until the mid 2010s. What‘s his role now exactly?

Bobrov's history of drafting looks like if Grant McCagg and Craig Button had a baby and subjected it to the ludovico technique where it was shocked every time the letters "BPA" appeared on screen

Time to fire the entire scouting staff. We just need some f***ing nerd to watch some youtube, it's obviously the same shit right? That's why internet scouts have such lucrative, thriving NHL careers instead of begging for likes and subs and peddling their shitty excel document draft guides for $19,99. Come on man.

And if Bobrov wasn't a f***ing incompetent moron, maybe we could attach some value to that.
He can be as incompetent as can be, but if someone talks to you about his issues that has seen him the last couple of years, you have no choice. Judging from your post history, you have to be right on everything or you throw a tantrum. Take a deep breath, it'll be ok.

I mean personally I wouldn't be drafting any Russians who aren't interested in coming over ASAP, but it's not my choice.

I read he was a scout, or consultant or something. Either way he's the closest thing we have to a KHL insider. If he wasn't able to give us any information then it makes even less sense to draft a guy they know little about.

Judging from your post history, you defend everything the club does no matter what. I have 30 years of garbage history on my side. What you got?

Yeah that's why NHL scouts are infallible and never make the wrong pick. Never mind that an entire scouting staff was outperformed by an excel document picking the highest scoring CHL forward over the course of the 2000s.

You mean 171th overall Pavel Datsyuk? Somehow I feel it's safer to take a 7th round flyer on a guy you haven't seen live than on the 5th.

It's funny. A lot of posters wanted Leonard and I haven't seen a single one of them have a childish tantrum over Reinbacher.
