In a few years:

Caufield - Suzuki - Roy
Slafkovsky - Dach - Newhook
Farrell - Beck - Heineman
RHP - Kidney/Kapanen - Ylonen

Hutson - Reinbarcher
Guhle - Mailloux
Xhekaj - Barron
Engstrom

Montebeault
Dobes

Really need the young forwards to hit their potential
that lineup wouldn't be able to play at 5v5

unless suzuki suddenly becomes actual 1st liner caliber at that

Sportsnet are worthless clowns. I would put more stock in TSN analysts. And are they counting Newhook with Reinbacher.
Now if Hughes was counting on acquiring another late 1st or 2 I would lose confidence because he should know most GM's don't have the balls to even trade a late 1st.
We are the losers of the draft as of today, we picked by need with a top 5 pick in one of the best forwards groups in years. This isn't saying things can't change in the future... but I would say 93% of habs fans are going to bed tonight with a sick feeling in their stomach.

Even if he reaches his potential he’s viewed as more of a #3 or #4, at least from what I’ve read by multiple scouting services. That’s fine and all, but you want more with your 5th overall pick, especially when the alternative is a damn near generational forward who is there for the taking.
NHL.com thinks Hutson and Reinbacher have top 2 potential. Although michkov is good, if he was that good he wouldn’t have went 7 OV to PHILLY

That forward group is way too small/soft.

This board is living in the dreamworld that Michkov is a 100pt player and the savior and yadda yadda. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. But guess who else is a small 100pt player, Johnny Gaudreau. You ever see that guy lead a team to a ship? Nope.

Settle down, wait and see.

This was the year to get the offensive stud since it's an F laden draft. Next year is more D heavy. We won't win without elite talent. Chicago will reach there before us.
1. You don't draft based on next year's draft, that's just ridiculous.
2. Cam Allen, Theo Lindstein, Charlie Stramel, Kasper Halttunen and Cal Ritchie were all on many top 15s before this season started. Draft projections always change a lot as time progresses.
