Friday the 13th is Jerry Jones' 81st bday.

In 2 years the Cowboys will have gone 30 years w/o going to the NFC title game.

@StreetHawk wilson can be moved to Carolina. Trade him for bryce and some picks, draft caleb/maye and get some new WRs
Can Denver be bad enough to be bottom 2 and draft a QB?

GB, KC, Bye, Buf, Min, Cle, Hou, LAC, Det, NE, LAC, LV remaining on their schedule.

Swing games are going to be:

GB, Min, Hou, NE. I expect Watson's shoulder to be ready in over a month from now.

If Denver goes 0-4 vs those 4 above or even 1-3, then if they end up with 2 wins, I can see them at the top of the NFL draft.

Carolina's window for wins begins in week 8, after their bye week.

A lot of the bad teams right now have to play each other, so someone is getting W's.

Wilson's contract isn't tradeable. Like Zeke's where 2025 vests sometime in March 2024, so if Denver doesn't cut him within days of the 2024 league year in mid March, that $37 mill base for 2025 becomes fully guaranteed. No one is trading for Russ with that condition. They'd want to see how he plays for them first if they did acquire him.

Russell will have to restructure to get traded. Or even cut probably.

no reason for Russ to restructure. 2024 base salary is fully guaranteed. 2025 becomes fully guaranteed within 1 week of 2024 league year, so it vests a full season early.

So, if he got cut, he'd still get his denver money. Not sure if there is offset language to help Denver out, if say Russ got $10 mill for 2024 somewhere else. Then Denver's 2024 salary to Russ would drop from $37 to $27 mill. But, I don't know about that.

I can't see another team taking him and having 2025 guaranteed already given how Denver has gone. Would want a year to see. But, don't see why Russ would make the 2025 base guaranteed any later than in March 2024. No benefit to him.

Even Eli joked last season in that first game that Peyton got cut from Indy when talking to Sharpe... Would sting the ego, but he'd get paid regardless.

So they have to cut him and suck it up.

not a bad guy to have as your 3rd WR i guess
Is he a guy that fits the role that the Eagles need at this stage of his career? What do they need him to do that Brown and Smith are not asked to do at WR? Or what Goedart isn't doing at the TE position either.

they don't need him at all. maybe they figured they'd sign him as insurance of brown or smith get injured? who knows. don't think he's got anything left in the tank

The Eagles depth at WR was lacking. Zaccheaus is a utility receiver, and Quez Watkins sucks. I'm sure Howie is scouring the trade market, but he may need to invest more in secondary.

It’s super David Carr. The Raiders ended up having to cut him and he performed better, is younger and didn’t have an albatross contract.

The Broncos will just have to pass that kidney stone and use those couple seasons to tank.

It only really takes a year of suffering to get out of cap jail, and if your starting QB is a rookie, it doesn’t even matter.

For Wilson, it would be 2 years. $35 for 2024 and $50 for 2025. Plus with Gregory and McManus, those 2 count $15 mill towards 2024 year, so that would then bring the 2024 dead cap up to $50 mill as well.

When you move off vets, you will then eat the dead cap of the remaining unallocated prorated up front payments for signing bonuses, contract restructures, and bonuses.

Sutton would carry a $7.6 mill dead cap if either cut or traded. Jeudy on the other hand, if traded his entry 2024 cap hit goes with him as his 5th year contract is all base salary but fully guaranteed.
