Sucks missing out on Soto but I don’t know enough about baseball to know if the ask would have been worth it.

I don't understand the reason to trade for Bader, since he has plantar fasciitis, which means you can put whatever timeline you want on it and it'll probably be wrong.

But the worst part is that he'll have to cut his glorious mane.

I don’t really understand it, he doesn’t hit much, only signed through next year and currently hurt. That’s not a good return for a solid starting pitcher.
 
Cole,Cortes,Montas,Taillon and German looks to be the rotation down the stretch until Severino is back
 
Getting Bader makes me believe they want Judge back in right more down the stretch.Bader is a gg centerfielder and will be late game sub with Judge moving over to right

Trading a sub 4 ERA for a defensive OF is a head scratcher

But Yankees have had some luck with their acquisitions from STL

Bader isn't just a defensive outfielder. He's an above average hitter. Weird trade for a guy whose hurt though.
 
Guessing Stanton won't play the outfield when he comes back, maybe 1-2 games a week. Playoffs will probably be

Trev Catcher
Rizzo 1B
Gleyber 2B
IKF (puke) SS
DJ 3B
Benny LF
Bader CF
Judge RF
Stanton DH

Carp and Donaldson get one pinch hit at bat a piece for IKF and Trev in tight situations.
 
Mets moves were good. Didn't give up any of their elite prospects for marginal upgrades.

Vogelbach+Ruf DH is an elite level player. Naquin upgraded Jankowski. Givens is a good 7th/8th inning option. Add in May coming back and the backend looks solid.

Lugo and May will be asked to get lefties out. Maybe Petersen is an addition out there as an option. A situational lefty would have been ideal. 3 batter rule takes some guys out of it.

Concern is catching. Unless Alvarez is coming up, that is a hole offensively.

The people complaining about other teams making big moves; those teams needed to make that moves. The Mets top end players are already on the team. What was the big move to make? Contreras and JD Martinez didn't get moved at all. Everyone balked at the asking price.
