If the Brewers are serious about moving Burns, I'd be on that one.

I don't know that you can really trust Nestor. I have way more hope for Rodon bouncing backl than I do him.

If they got Hader they'd basically have all 3 legs of this moment (the caption is wrong as the Nats don't play at DS)

Do it.

I forgot completely about Rodon lol. That's how shit he was this past year.

Look at that projected walk % for Soto...its beautiful.Torres coming in 41st with a projected war of 3.8

Pure war rankings have them at -

2 and 3. Gleyber is at 36. Not bad. I think Volpe will drastically outperform his projections too.

Theres plenty of reason to be cautiously optimistic about the team from a position player standpoint. They've been great at churning out quality relievers so there will probably be a guy or 2 who we aren't even talking about right now who end up becoming pretty good in that respect.

Need to sort out the rotation. Theres no depth there right now.

Yankees need to make some trades. They have good infield and utility players.
They need some pitching. They lost 3 pitchers in the rule 5 draft.
I think they moved Claton Beeter onto the 40 man a few weeks ago.

I mean, I think even the dense rock that is Brian Cashman understands that a long-term extension for Soto is the best thing you can do. He is arguably the best player on the roster. and a definite #2 to Judge but it's incredibly close. Seems like Cashman is just fumbling with GM-speak. But then again he's a bad GM, so his normal GM-speak just comes across as poor to begin with even if good intentions are there.

Yeah, in the end, he knows, as well as everyone else, that Boras clients usually take the biggest contract offered and he can't say Hal will be willing to offer that biggest contract in a year's time. Problem is the 2025 crop of FA position players isn't that great behind Soto and Bregman.

If theres anything to really get worked up about it should be over Cashman boasting that the real Yankees are back.

Like why the f*** did they go away to begin with? Trying to grab bounce back candidates on big contracts was the dumbest shit ever.

I love the no beard policy and wouldn't want any punk who cared so much about it he wouldn't want to play for the NYY.
I'm a fairly traditional guy but I do not understand why the no beard policy is there. I can understand being neat and presentable. Some guys have beards to cover skin issues. I'm not for or against it. I just do not think it is worth the issues with guys like Don Mattingley (long hair not beard).

I think a no facial hair policy is ridiculous. I always have. You put in a policy where things have to be neat and trimmed, no unnaturally colored dyes. Stuff like that. Outside of "tradition" there's absolutely no reason why in 2023 a professional sports team should be trying to prevent dudes from having facial hair.

I agree with you with every fiber of my personal worldview, but after watching the Yankees for 30+ years, it would be super weird.

I think the rule should be refined so that only Verdugo is subject to the no facial hair policy.

Shits nasty, yo.

The beard rule is idiotic. A mustache is fine but one hair on your chin is the end of the world? I don’t think Hal cares at all but sister Jenny gets very upset.

Maybin is largely correct, with the caveat that maybe just insist the facial hair is neatly trimmed and kempt. Other than that, yeah it's a dumb rule.

Michael Kay seems to believe that if a significant Yankee player went to management and 'politely insisted' that they be allowed to grow it out the policy would come under severe stress.
