A-Rod should really be getting the Pete Rose treatment from MLB. Witness tampering, paying multiple people off, and the only time he really actually came clean, was to the DEA when his lawyers already negotiated him out of any consequences.
Also hope we hear more about the MLB giving A-Rod a medical exemption to take hormone treatments earlier in his career. Everyone's hands here are incredibly dirty, but it shouldn't take away from what a self-protecting d-bag Alex is.

They should ban A-Rod from what, exactly? He doesn’t work for the MLB and will never be in the HOF anyway so what difference would it make?
Pete Rose being banned actually means something because he’d obviously make the HOF the second his ban is hypothetically lifted.

The following is not a defense of A-Rod as I don't really care about him nor his legacy. I just find it interesting.
A-Rod just signed an exclusive deal with Fox Sports and I don't think it's a coincidence that it's ESPN who publishes this long article now. Before, they had no problem with employing this cheat, this conniver, this liar, this, evidently, horrible human, and having him as one of the major faces of their baseball coverage.

Definitely come to camp as a starter, the positive is, they know he will be good in the pen if that’s ultimately the play.
Also, two guys who should be no where near a spot next season.

hey, bern still swamped for 'nother coupla wks but playing hookey for coupla mins to share some thoughts on Yanks...
I said early on, ditch the vets. mgmt refused to eat $$$, and wound up screwed anyway.
We now have to consider Stanton. His raw strength is good for 20+ min missles, but his avg + effectiveness is way down.
Ok, there's a reason Jeter ate a small part of his $$ and dealt him to us. We got a few good years. But now there is likely paying the piper.
We are gonna have to eat about half of what pay on a still big #, prob to Ana in salary dump for Trout at full pop. If Stanton can do better via adjustments, w/Yanks also adding to Miami eating his $$$ possibly joined by Angels, then for few yrs remaining Giancarlo could be attractive enough to acquire, esp for places where home field is hitter friendly, like Fenway.
Other big get I want to try is Ellly de la Cruz from Reds.
Just before this guy went supernova early mid season, I said get, even if overpay, IF the currency is right. Howev, July-ish to now he has been putrd, and Cincy is forced to consider removing from starting lineup.
Nothing is wrong with him physically.
They figured out how to pitch to him, and he hasn'tfigured out counter adjustments.
This = a great buy opportunity, again, if currency is correct.
So here:
1. Reds have enuf prospects, need correct adds to be playoff + contenders next season. Need to leverage risk b'c up vs Braves + Dodgers + to lesser extent Cubs. Need pitching, backstop upgrades.

That's 3 who were all stars not that long ago plus German, who has issues but also has electric stuff.

I originally thought EdlC to SS and Volpe as Bobby Richardson II at 2B. Howev, now willing to keep Volpe at SS, trade Gleyber, do Peraza at 2B, and go w/hot corner Gold Glover IKF at 3B, with EdlC told he will have every chance to develop and take over the position long term.
Wells is the future at C, so we ok there.

Long term we are adding the Martian Jasson Dominguez and Spencer Jones, a lefty Judge. While I would make a temporary adjustment this yr w/Trout in OF, I would prefer the lefty thrower go to 1B. Rizzo we can keep around + make a coach or consultant if nec, but if a concussion slows your reflexes a fraction of a second, that could be enough to get face creamed on a throw or hard hit ball. No. Unless idiosyncrasies of his health do not allow Trout to stretch properly, he goes to IB. Only as a backup plan, Trout to OF and lefty throwing Florial to 1B.
Trout might do Yanks but reports are Phils b'c he's' a big Eagles fan.

Does 1-2 yrs w/us push for pennant, then we trade to Philly for prospects.
CA is aware Trout return reduced by his nmc limiting where he accepts; big salary few can afford; acquirer must be likely contender.

I wouldn't be surprised if 1 of the younger pitchers like Vazquez,Brito or possibly Gil get a chance at a rotation spot. I don't see them signing any free agent starters..but I could be wrong!

I’m still excited for next season. Hopefully they still get some bats but they do have the best record in MLB since they brought up the kids
