I know I won't, but I'd love to hear more about the analytics team. I mean, is our analytics team any good? Maybe they really do suck.

IIRC when he was here in Baltimore, he wasn't an "analytics guy" but he also understood and appreciated their role helping inform decisions, so it would surprise me if he was just taking a blanket anti-analytics stance now.

On a related note. It's going to be interesting to see what they do with Gleyber. Around a 120 OPS+/wRC. WAR in the 3s. Entering what should be the prime of his career (Age 27 season).
I’m thinking he’s on his way out this winter. Should get decent value back even with only one year to go. Schmidt might be out of here too

Much worries man. X is shit.
Fixed it for you!

Oh and I still stand by my comment regarding Yankees analytic staff. On a serious note, Judge evidently has some criticisms of them to be discussed with management. When you start hearing stories on how their top, successful at the time, prospects are being inundated with data fed to them by the analytics team, overwhelming them and causing too many changes in approach all at once, that's breaking one of the foundational rules of Data Science.

I think it would be a mistake trading Torres..he's our best position player after Judge and had a really good bounce back season

Vogelback didn't really have a bad year and he always seemed to hustle on the bases so I never got the hate. In 500 plate appearances in 2 years he had a 108 OPS+ and 1.0 bwar. But he was a waste of a roster spot since he never played the field and he had to be pinch run for. I figure the mets got their moneys worth from him but he didn't fit the mets roster which was already short of capable defenders.

It's alarming how, aside from Cole who is a Hall of Fame caliber player, every free agent pitcher that comes here turns into cat piss. And now some of them are leaving and getting good again.

Larry Rothschild was a horrendous pitching coach.

Montgomery was a good pitcher when he was traded and has continued…. To be a good pitcher. Not a free agent pitcher but the point remains that he didn’t have a massive leap in performance after leaving. He’s basically continued being what he was.

What about Rodon and Montas?

Wow that's great, I assumed Cohen wanted to hold onto Eppler but he has really given Stearns total authority. Let's hope Stearns is as good as his reputation.

EDIT: I see Eppler resigned. Hard for me to believe his "I wanted Stearns to have a clean slate" thing. I would guess that he figured he was probably a goner within the next year and negotiated an exit.
