Has Weekes always had an octopus for his twitter photo? He just tweeted that he has breaking news or whatever and I noticed his photo seemed different than before and now I see an octopus...
I am obviously reading way too much into this, but if that is like one of his "clues" for what his breaking news is, for 1. that would be pretty cool/neat idea to keep fan interaction and staying relevant for eyeballs and 2. I may sh*t my pants. Responsibly.

I would be glad if Killorn signed short term for increased cap hit. Definitely a good guy to have in the room and he put up career highs last year for counting stats so he's not cooked. I don't expect him to replicate it at all, just pointing to it as a signifier that he's still a player.

The team needs to hit the floor so I could see them paying a premium for short contracts to hit the floor and then stand pat.
6/2 for Killorn, 2.5 for Kostin, 1-2 million for a warm body.
Field a lottery team next year.
Edit: With the Yamamoto buyout they may not even need the warm body.
Cause he had 40 goals 2 yrs ago. Why wouldn't we take him for one year? He performs like that again and we'll fetch a nice return.

Watsons girlfriend came out and said it was her fault and his rehab stint was before Seider was even drafted. Hes playe in the league the whole time since then, I really dont think any of that will even be a factor in him signing here. If hes open to it, Yzerman wont care about that stuff.
On D, you can add Gudas or Mayfield. Then up front you have Kostin, Killorn and Watson/Reaves added. All of a sudden youre not getting ran out of arenas and you can bring up all the young guys without worrying about shit like what happened with the sens going on. Guys like Kasper and Edvinsson can play with their edge and not worry about anything

Quite funny, but my I WANT -package hasn't change since I did this list in May already:
- C ROR (best UFA center) 3-years
- LW Killorn (best UFA winger) 2-years
- RD Mayfield (best UFA physical PK def to help our bad PK) 4-years
- trade for RFA G Swayman and extend him. 3-years
Those are main pieces. All short-term.
If there's still space, go after Dumba.
But, after signing Kostin, I don't think there's enough cap space for another RhD. So you have to experiment a trade route, load some cap out in a deal to RhD in.
Think about DeBrincat at summer 2024.

Yzerman talked quite a lot of free agency on that yesterday draft interview.
- Need to add a goalie.
- Rh defenceman
- Any kind of mix of forwards. Really likes to add scoring power.
All this talk was after Kostin+Yama -trade.
"mix of forwards" = multiple forwards.
Can't wait.
Goalie market looks rough at this moment. Husso is all but assured to be the starter. I just hope there's someone decent that can spell him 30 games. Cutting bait from Ned and Hellberg, I suppose Yzerman has some kind of idea in place.

In the next couple of days, my predictions are that;
- Zadina, Fabbri and Veleno are traded ... perhaps unloading Chiarot as part of acquiring a larger salary (though, I'm one of the few who like Chiarot)
- Wings will acquire at least one top 6 forward via FA or trade, probably 2
- acquire at least one top 4 defenseman
- acquire a bottom 6 bouncer that can play to ride shotgun with Kasper and Kostin ... the grind line reinvented
- obviously they need a decent goalie, who depends on what they still think of Husso at this point
- they will spend more money than most here would have expected
- many here will still not be satisfied (okay, that's not a prediction, it's a scientific fact)
