Even if it’s an opportunity to improve this team now , Verbeek is not going to do it. He’s tanking but he will not or cannot say that in the open.

I wouldn’t mind him, would certainly be better than some of the other scrubs on the bottom six
Wouldnt it be better to let him slip through waivers... and then possibly get an asset from penguins to take him (i assume no one is taking him)

Perfetti out for 8+ weeks.... too bad Henrique is injured, that woulda been a nice fit

I feel Verbeek should help bail out a cap team like the Rangers or Pittsburgh, because we really aren’t going to get too much for our pending UFAs, and now what Rico is hurt he is most likely staying.

More assets the better.

I feel like screaming out like Craig and Smokey, "Daaaayyyyyyuuuum!" about what the Athletic wrote about both Klingberg and Kulikov. It hurts reading what they wrote and makes me think, "Can we get anything for those two with this type of bad advertising?!"

Imagine the rage on here if that happened lol
That's why I'm half-seriously preparing for that, honestly.

With how bad our defense has been, with how difficult the market is with almost no team being able to fit a lot of cap, and with some better alternatives out there... who's seriously going to want Klingberg or Kulikov? I mean, there could always be someone who loses out on the bigger fish, but even then it's not totally unimaginable that the market just doesn't move.

Henrique and Shattenkirk I think we keep for locker room and roster reasons. Comtois? Does anybody even want him at this stage? Stolarz probably moves, but that's about it.

If Grants available, I feel like someone will take him too. Elite faceoff guys are always in vogue this time of year

I’m probably one of the few here that don’t mind Klingberg. I wouldn’t mind keeping a hold of him really. Kulikov is neither here or there. Just replaceable like a bunch of other players on here

The Kulikov shit is why I hate Dom. Klingberg is a fine person to put on the list but to throw Kulikov on here and bitch about the fact that he's gotten hemmed in when the worst defensive team in the league is forcing him to play on the top pair is so f***ing lazy.

I think the Fowler and Kulikov pair has been the reason we survive for so long in games before it falls apart. They have been pretty solid. The rest of the D have been the issue, with most of the forwards not really helping either.

Fowler and Kulikov are so overrated around here together IMO. I also think Kulikov is overrated around here as well but that's just me. He's alright but always out of position defensively.

If they were the 2nd pairing, would be better, imo. I mean Fowler is having a career production season on one of the worst Ducks teams in history. Kulikov is a good bottom pairing and is just playing over his head, as all our D are.

Kulikov would actually be an upgrade to the Rangers bottom Pairing and they are a playoff contending team.

I'd hope Fowler and others were having career years with how much they chill in the same spot in the D zone... and don't use any physicality (if you've played before you know how tiring a puck battle is on the boards). Glad he's producing maybe he's boosting his trade value for next season... Once some of our kids are ready it's going to be a lot of the same out there (offense/transition D men). He's been on the ice for over 1534 minutes now and has 14 hits on the season.... say whatever you want about the type of player he is but he's on the ice all the time in all situations... and he's 6'2 215 pounds. This team as a whole "try" so much harder on offense than defense.... missing a good coach and leadership desperately. It's not just Cam it's the whole team, I used him as an example because he plays so many minutes so it's a bigger sample size. We come back and make it competitive at times but shift to shift the effort is embarrassing for a professional team.

Fowler will be a good stop gap will Minty and/or Zell are ready, but yeah we gotta have more defensive defenseman and who are physical but also responsible. That could take some time, unless Verbeek makes a trade this summer to get a Top 4 guy to play with Drysdale or Fowler.

Someone posted on the mainboard that Boston will apparently sit out Mike Reilly and Jakub Lauko from their AHL lineup, leading to speculation they are involved in trade talks.

Reilly obviously a contract they'd like to shed, on a 3M cap hit with one year remaining. He's never lived up to the deal (hence buried in the AHL) but not a big contract to take on with the right incentive, and he likely can still fill NHL minutes.

Lauko is the type of player we should be shopping around the league for in theory. He's ready for consistent NHL minutes but just won't see that as Boston loads up with more vets. He's known for being a very fast, hard working and disruptive player (we could surely use more of that) with a high floor albeit lower ceiling.

Lauko along with a future 2nd, for us to take on Reilly? We send back future considerations or possibly Moore's contract for LTIR purposes if that's more to their benefit.

Klingberg will be traded, we wont get nearly enough for him and when he starts playing on a playoff caliber blueline than can insulate him, he will look like he was worth 2 1st round picks.

Kulikov is a guy you add for some stability, probably worth a 4th round pick.
Grant, same, 4th maybe 5th round pick.
Henrique, all depends on what the injury is and if its something that can linger or not.

Shatty I feel like they will extend, but could also see a team like EDM miss out on both Chychrun and Karlsson and then settle for Klingberg or Shatty.
