I think Michkov's skill set is hands down better than Benson's. If Michkov was in last the last two year's draft no one would pass him even with the KHL contracts. The problem for him is there are 4-5 guys who are damn close to having a similar ceiling without the baggage.

My gut says down the road people will redraft Michkov as the 2nd or 3rd best from this draft. But it will take years for the opinion to bubble up

Completely agree with this. I'm pretty blown away by some of the clips I've seen of him. His shot is out of this world. Too bad he's on such a terrible team, missed Worlds, and got jacked around all season by CSKA. I want him so badly, and we can wait for his long contract. I'll take him if he slips to 5 - 7, where I think we're actually picking, but I think you take Benson with the 4th.
I bet if he gets full minutes at CSKA next season, he goes #2 in a redraft.

Chychrun in a deal with Buffalo that involves their first and Philly’s 2nd. Then you move those two picks for a single pick closer to 10th and pick Reinbacher. As long as you’re cool with trading Chychrun for Reinbacher and another prospect like Rosen.

Between Molendyk, Strbak and Brzustewicz there are some sneaky value defensemen I REALLY like in that 25-45 range.

Moser isn't a top pair Dman...he's better suited to a middle pair guy at best. Reinbacher looks like a stud and it would be great to get an additional 1st somewhere in the teens where we can pick him up. Duda on the other hand looks like he could be a top pair guy, I think he and Reinbacher would look great together.

Those pairs are not in any particular order, I think they all have the capacity to be 20 minute a night pairs. You play who's hot that night, and anyone who needs some rest can get it. In 7 years it could be the best blue line in the NHL. With Cooley, hopefully Fantilli, and Hayton down the middle, we'd have a solid foundation for a championship team. Add Guenther, Maccelli, maybe Crouse, Keller, and Schmaltz to that list and I think we could do it.

Goalie doesn't matter, it's our only area that hasn't been an issue over our lifespan. I hope that trend continues.

Agreed about the 2024 draft. Disagree heavily about Benson. Benson = Marner + Bunting. Don't worry about his size. He will be a difference maker on a team.

Benson because we are AZ. If I was SJ/PHI/VAN/CHI and maybe ANA I'd take Michkov.

But I don't think the risk of Michkov is worth the 10 more points a season he may put up over Benson.

Benson is an elite prospect.
