It’s funny how much he’s changed and yet stayed the same. He used to be obsessed with little water bugs who ate junior leagues alive but had no pro potential. NHL scouts got in his ear so much that now he’s falling in love with big, projectable, meat and potatoes guys.

I can’t hate him. I do the same kind of stuff. Haha. I like Pronman a lot. Especially when he develops a completely irrational love for the same random prospect I do, or a completely irrational skepticism of the same random prospect as me. Haha.

I bet this was a way to get back to normalcy post pandemic. We’ve slowly inched back to having the draft late June and free agency July 1st. I’m okay with one year of weirdness regarding the draft.

It was a weeknight last year too. It’s why I got to watch only the first 11 picks. I think Wednesday will actually work for me in the summer, though.

This makes sense. It's the only reason that could justify the decision. If it's not the reason, then I'm just speechless.

Kids. I’ve got two young boys. I’ve got coaching duties some nights and I am a youth leader at a church kids club, as well. My older son can be a handful. So I usually sign up for whatever he signs up for. It’s only fair. My younger son is a little peach who doesn’t need me around to stay in line, but I can’t do for one and not the other. So my weekday evenings and weekend mid-days can get full.

Benson really is something, but I’m just not sure if I’m ready to place him in the top 4. Like if you draft 4th and have to choose between him and Michkov, that’s a tough tough choice.

I think Michkov's skill set is hands down better than Benson's. If Michkov was in last the last two year's draft no one would pass him even with the KHL contracts. The problem for him is there are 4-5 guys who are damn close to having a similar ceiling without the baggage.

My gut says down the road people will redraft Michkov as the 2nd or 3rd best from this draft. But it will take years for the opinion to bubble up
