I'd rather both just play in the AHL. Close for call ups to give them some NHL time too
Also I expect some of the prospects to be moved for quality prime aged players at some point to help start pushing out of the rebuild after this next draft.
I doubt he's leaving College for the AHL.

No real benefit to him. He's planning to be an NHL Star not a journeyman. He can develop just fine for that in College
I think he can develop just fine in the AHL, and can be a call up, if in fact he can't crack the line up. You would think with our roster he may be able to.

You can think what you want he's not leaving school after one year to play in AHL. If he leaves there will be an NHL guarantee as long as he doesn't fall on his face.

Adam Fantilli with a hat trick tonight. He leads a stacked Michigan team in scoring. This kid is unreal.

Quiet night for Cooley. His linemates scored but no pts for Logan tonight
Cooley had a single assist and was +3. 11/17 on faceoffs. According to Gophers stats.

Its early but pronman on his show yesterday was sort of leaning towards Bedard, fantilli, Carlsson, Mitchkov as the top 4.
I could easily see the pick for Mitchkov being traded at 4th or 5th to a team that's good but getting older. Think Pitt giving up extra assets for a future star that they might not need just yet.

I just read somewhere that this draft is the most stacked draft since 2015. That gave me goosebumps because of a certain player the Coyotes drafted #3 overall that year. I just can see Arizona falling to third place in Draft Lottery and drafting "dylanstrome" again. Drafting a franchise center is just too good to happen. Maybe I'm just being too pessimistic but it's definitely easier than being too optimistic and then getting let down.

With that being said all three of Bedard, Fantilli and Carlsson do look like franchise centers.

It would be really great to have another top 15 pick this year. Maybe BA rather than getting Geekie, he should have made the same package to move to 11 this year.
That’s a tough trade to make. AZ was fortunate that Grier follows the nfl model of rebuilds and didn’t put a heavy emphasis on his early pick. Most teams won’t entertain that type of offer period.

I am still shocked it happened. It honestly would have made more sense if it was Anaheim or Columbus doing a trade back like that. San Jose seems like they need the most quality they can get rather than quantity right now. CBJ or Anaheim could have taken the extra picks and used it for some minor trades to improve.

Depends on their list. If a guy they have in their top 10 is available at that 27 slot then good on them for having the balls to do it.

The cost to move up in this draft will be significantly higher than last. Theres also fewer teams willing to give up their first this year so it probably doesn't get done IMO.
