Keller for 9th, Wallinder, and Soderblom.
Why do you and others want to trade a fantastic home grown talent? BA approaching Chych was dumb enough. We waited a long time for Keller and I want to keep our home grown talent and set a great culture. I hope and expect word on a new location shortly and hopefully all this talk cools down.

Even if I were GM for one of teams he wants to play for, I'd be scared to draft him. What happens when the honeymoon is over or his opinion changes over the next few?
Don't believe everything you hear or read. I don't like Russians but if he fell to us I would take him. If he wants to play in the NHL, he has to go through us.

Because these owners screwed up the arena situation so badly that he’s going to request a trade.
If that is the case I would imagine Schmaltz/Fisher are out the door as well.

After the Tempe debacle, I wouldn't be surprised if the rumors about signing someone this offseason are true. To appease Keller, the rest of the players and some of the fans. That being said, I hope this doesn't ruin the rebuild.

Moser 6'1
Valimaki 6'2
Soderstom 6'0
Kesslering 6'5
Kolyachonok 6'1

Those are the young guy that got minutes and are under contract.

I doubt that both Morden and Lamoureux become NHLers but they would pull up the average size quite a bit.

Do not want Michkov at all anymore. Not even at 12. He's blown off the entire pre-draft process and sounds like a primadonna of all this is true. It's disrespectful to the league and his peers IMO. BA likes character guys, he's sounds polar opposite of what we'd want in a lockerrom.
Normally I would agree 100% but he is going through a tough patch in life and maybe not really prioritizing his career at the moment. His talent will shine through in the end and his passion for the game will cause him to make the right choices latter on.

He skipped [missed] the combine and is rumored to be avoiding interviews, yet he's coming to hear his name called in person at the draft? I don't think "tough patch" explains it all, personally. Sounds more like priorities to me. There's gotta be more to it if this is all true. If he's too devastated by the loss of his father to participate in this stuff I have even bigger concerns, because this should be one of the biggest highlights of his life regardless. I usually participate in the things I love to take my mind off of bad things.

Lol, you obviously don't know that they didn't invite Russian kids?

Look it up. The NHL confirmed they did.

Edit: And I'd assume that Michkov was one of the nine invited. To be fair, visas could've been an issue, but again, apparently he got one for the actual draft. And I wasn't bothered about him not attending the combine until I heard rumors that he's not taking interviews with at least some teams too. If that's true than it's just adding up.

Where are their names?

Good point.

I'll admit that using the term "skipped" regarding the combine might not have been the best choice of words. Still, no combine and rumors (even though they're just rumors) that even hint that he may be trying to fall to preferred team(s) makes him too risky for us, IMO.

I'm going off of what Dan Marr (Director of NHL Central Scouting) said when asked about Russians coming to the Combine. Maybe he was wrong or he's being misunderstood, or politics. I just don't know. Either way, if there's one team in the entire league that he might not want to play for, it's us. And he has all that time under the KHL contract to find a way off our team if he did choose to. We've been burned before (Wheeler, Turris, etc.) I would hope and expect that the teams actually have a better grasp of what's real and what's overblown BS being reported than I do though.

Emptying the 2023 NHL Combine Notebook.

"The other top story was the absence of Russian players at the Combine including top prospect Matvei Michkov. Central Scouting Director Dan Marr was asked about this on Friday. He admitted that the nine Russian players would be welcomed at the Combine if they could get there. Marr went on to talk about the current geopolitical climate. “We can’t control the geopolitical situation over there. We talked to all the agents for the players and it’s difficult to travel. It’s difficult to get visas to enter the U.S. and we just left it open. There were top-nine Russian players."

Coyotes have a Russian scout in Russia, right?
That guys job for the past year has been to get familiar with Michkov. The Coyotes know Michkov inside and out. They know what he wants. They have a pretty good idea what happened to his dad.

We might feel uneasy as fans if he's our pick, but we can rest assured that Bill will be fully aware of the actual risks. He can cut through media propaganda in a way that we can't.

Sounds like it was also hard for local scouts in Russia to gain access. For a franchise like AZ where they spend so much time delving into background of the prospects (especially After Mitchell Miller fiasco) this doesn’t bode well for our willingness to draft Mitchkov at 6. That being said i’d sell it like he could be our guy to see if u can get something to pass on him.

Sounds like none of the teams know him because nobody can get access. I can’t imagine the coyotes are the special team.

Im not saying I’ll be disappointed if we pick him. I wouldn’t be. Im saying there’s no way we pick him.

You are about as emotional as Keller's dad.
Remind what Keller’s agency said publicly about what he wants and what his timeline is. Go ahead.

Where are their names?

That list says participants not invitees. Dan Marr confirmed they were invited.
