Have Russians participated in the combine while under contract with the KHL?
Yes. They’re always under contract.
Why is he coming over for the draft if the war is the reason he missed the combine?
Now you’re caught up to the conversation. Right about this question is when you started asking to be remediated.

It will be interesting to find out if BA and staff interview Michkov at the draft. I read the Sharks have already lined one up with him. You can’t help think teams have already become attached to some kids though.

Add Fischer to StL for one of their late 1sts too!

Chesley, Snuggerud, 8th, 10th, 12th, 29th, 38th

Hell of a haul!
We don't need Keller we have Kyrou & we just don't need Fisher. Maybe Snuggy for your 6th overall pick & we will give you one of our late 1sts for Crouse.

With a stacked draft at forward, I don’t see why you draft a D at 6 when they are not considered a top 10 pick…

plenty of D later on , or at next years draft…

I get concerned when the GM always talks BPA, then goes off the board with someone we need. looking at our past drafts it hasn’t worked in our favour.

in my opinion draft BPA, then trade for need after.

But all this is of course my arm chair quarterbacking , and my opinion, the scouts and gm know best, but I would be hugely disappointed if we drafted a D with number 6.

I'll bet you that if Leonard is available at 6, we pick him and then trade up to get Reinbacher.

BA must be operating on the assumption that Leonard goes earlier.

It’s scary to think about, but imagine Patrick Kane with Matthews shot. This is essentially what you’re getting with Michkov. There are slight differences to the style. He’s much better along the boards like Garland/Domi . There’s not a lot of top end speed but he’s quick and shifty. The puck has always moved faster than feet. There are other elements that always need to be discussed of course. What’s going on upstairs, and is the defense good enough. I will say that elite goal scoring and a premium touch around the net is of upmost importance watching these playoffs. Michkov is #2 in this draft in that regard. Take him at 6 watch him blossom and trade the asset. Or watch him grow with all the bad asses surrounding him courtesy of BA. Leonard is my want but I’d be more than happy take Michkov at 6.

This is a fantastic article. Incredible insight:

I’ll post some screen caps later. Too long to post all of it. But shockingly honest, sometimes downright nasty commentary from anonymous NHL scouts and execs.

It has served to bolster my believe that AZ is extremely keen on Leonard. I believe our backup plans are Reinbacher and Dvorsky.
