The only way we stop being the scape goat for Canadian grievances is for another Canadian team, like Ottawa, to attempt a relocation to the US.
Speaking of that, the rumours say they have 5 or 6 bids for the Senators at a BILLION dollars each. It's not hard to see further expansion is coming with that interest. The only way we stop being the scape goat for Canadian grievances is for another Canadian team, like Ottawa, to attempt a relocation to the US.
We could also stop being crap for a decade, and stop needing revenue sharing to keep a float. I guess you don't have much of a chance when you're in your 4th rebuild over a span of 25 years. Let's hope Bill gets this one right. The only way we stop being the scape goat for Canadian grievances is for another Canadian team, like Ottawa, to attempt a relocation to the US.
Michal Handzus, Richard Panik and Milos Kelemen too!!Don’t forget Radoslav Suchy!
I think most of the NHL fans would prefer Bedard play in Eastern Conference. When you listen to NHL Network Radio they are constantly complaining about "late games" and how much of an inconvenience it is to watch those games. That is that view that East (especially Toronto) is Mecca of hockey. It is very irritating since I personally know several people in "old country" that set the alarm clock on some ungodly hour so they can watch NHL games.Serious question: at present time do you think anyone involved in NHL outside of AZ would like to see AZ win the lottery? I suspect in a few years with new arena built the NHL would absolutely love for the Coyotes to get a Star Player but right now I highly doubt anyone wants Bedard playing in Tempe for next few years. It's just not the best showcase for the new shiny toy.
What's scary is our best scenario is turning into what the Florida Panthers are now, who are *still* getting crap for being themselves. It seems Dallas, then San Jose and Anaheim, then Tampa Bay and Nashville, all got let off the hook, and I think Carolina might be there finally, too. Atlanta, of course, "got what they had coming" by being shipped north. We could also stop being crap for a decade, and stop needing revenue sharing to keep a float. For the most part I agree, though I believe CBJ got lots of crap durring their Nash years. I'd want them to get Bedard if it's not us, but I'd also like to see a new GM in Columbus. All the other teams (Atlanta excluded) have had points of winning, and bringing in their fair share of revenue. If we can do that for an extended period, I firmly believe we can change the perception of this team and market, we just need to win, consistently. What's scary is our best scenario is turning into what the Florida Panthers are now, who are *still* getting crap for being themselves. What's funny to me is that Vegas and Seattle never will be subject to that now, and that strangely Columbus never really has either, despite the abysmal track record.
Snoop Dogg is now involved with the Neko Sparks bid. I heard an interview with him and he mentioned wanting to expand inner city youth hockey programs. He's been a regular at Kings games for as long as I can remember.Speaking of that, the rumours say they have 5 or 6 bids for the Senators at a BILLION dollars each. Another interesting part of the bids is that most, if not all of them are in more for land development side of transaction than actually hockey team. That seems to be where sports ownership is headed.Snoop Dogg is now involved with the Neko Sparks bid. How much public funding did the Flames just get for their new arena? Like a few hundred million? I can see why these bidders think the Sens are worth a billion.Another interesting part of the bids is that most, if not all of them are in more for land development side of transaction than actually hockey team. Because the Sens are gonna get a new arena and land deal and also get hundreds of millions of dollars to do so.How much public funding did the Flames just get for their new arena? Like a few hundred million? I can see why these bidders think the Sens are worth a billion.

AgreePerreault.
Smith = Marner. Brain of line.
Leonard = Tkachuk. Power of line.
Perreault is a some kind of a scavenger.
And yet we have some dimwits trying to nix TED. Dumb and dumber I tell ya.The flames only contribute 350 million of the 1.2 billion project.
That’s a great read through. I don’t agree with everything. But good work. Molendyk missing is a big omission though.Scout's Analysis: Ranking the top 60 prospects for the 2023 NHL Draft
