No. Will it into existence that Detroit wins the lotto, then trades the Bedard pick for #2 and an absolute mountain of players and prospects and get Leo Carlsson anyway.
While I definitely see the intrigue with doing this, I don't see the wisdom in trading "likely" generational talent.

Would be hard to refuse if Arizona won 2nd and offered their pick plus Keller for 1st pick and our 1st next year.

In that imaginary scenario there’s no way Detroit gives up more than #1. And more would come back.

Lottery night reaction - if a team like San Jose or Montreal is spooked about Michkov and we aren't, I'd pick up the phone. With the lottery doing us zero favors I think you have to consider taking on some risk to bring in elite talent and, as they say, you can't make a Tomlette without breaking some Gregs.

What would we have to add to both of our firsts this year + both firsts next year to get the Fantilli pick from Anaheim?

Both 1sts and Wallinder? I feel like besides Drysdale and Minty, Anaheim is sparce on D prospects. But there's never too much center depth. Fantilli/Mctavish/Zegras would be lethal in the playoffs.

Zellweger has not put up 29 points in 13 playoff games just to get snubbed

I'm going to echo @Frk It here and I know I mentioned him before as well, but people need to start thinking about Matthew Wood. His season as a 17 year old in the NCAA was basically the best in the past 20 years. He led UCONN in scoring, (even beating Wings prospect Chase Bradley so you know they had eyes on him at some point), and was 2nd only to Celebrini at the u18s. I know the big knock is his skating but I watched almost all of the Canada games at the u18 and I didnt see him having any issue whatsoever with the pace. Granted, that's vs kids but skating can always be worked on, and he's not exactly Holmstrom...plus he's 6'3! Give me some size please for the postseason when we get there in a couple of years.

*The above post was made assuming Dvorsky is already gone...*

looks like a great prospect, could be a tage thompson

Would the 4 1st round picks we got this year and next be anywhere near enough to move up and get Fantilli or Carlsson?

Yup. I think Wood and Perreault are highly possible at 9. Especially if Leonard and Dvorsky are gone.
