That would be such an injustice but wouldn't surprise me at all.
I'm betting on the lottery wins going to some combination of Chicago, Philadelphia and Arizona.

i wouldn’t mind many of the outcomes. That would be such an injustice but wouldn't surprise me at all.

One thing that sucks about this is, I just don't see how two teams win the lottery. And every time I have done it and wings got 1 or 2, another team that wasn't top 2 improved as well.
And the Ducks are sitting there thinking:
Oh noes. Our absolute worst case scenario is getting either Fantilli or Carlson. However shall we cope with this disaster...
Don’t think I’ve ever wanted it as badly as I do this year.
I think I’m a little lower on the talent available around #9 than the rest of the board, I think the drop off from the first few picks is massive.
Feel like we’re running out of rope to draft that dynamic, high-end forward in the rebuild. I trust Yzerman to do his best to maneuver without that, but without that top 2/3 pick I do think you really have to work against the grain.
Carlsson feels very Anaheim to me. I like that fit, ideally in a world where we walk away with Bedard or Fantilli.

I'm putting my money on Washington (Bedard) and Pittsburgh (Michkov). That would be such an injustice but wouldn't surprise me at all.

Let's walk down that road for a sec. How many teams would have the assets AND actually want to part with a "mountain of players and prospects" to move from 2 to 1?No. Will it into existence that Detroit wins the lotto, then trades the Bedard pick for #2 and an absolute mountain of players and prospects and get Leo Carlsson anyway.

I'm sure that 90 percent of the league would definitely rather have Bedard than either Fantilli or Carlson. But I'd guess that those same teams would rather keep their assets and stay at #2 than cough up the irresistible price tag.
In this hypothetical, who exactly would be the sucker born every minute?

Sorry but I missed this one (and im too lazy to look it up). How does this happen?Ive never cheered for another team like I have Florida in these playoffs. Them moving on screws the Leafs (blow it up!), screws the Habs (they move down like 12 spots), and helps the Wings move up one spot. It couldnt get any sweeter!

DeliciousMontreal owns Florida's 1st this year from the Chiarot trade last year and Florida's first goes from 17th to 29th-32nd(depending on if they win more rounds after or not) if they make it past the 2nd round
san jose too.As far as the sucker GMs?
Arizona
Chicago
Columbus
Montreal
Philadelphia
I think any of those teams would be open to negotiating.
san jose too.
I had it on here somewhere but going off of what you said previous in trading the 1st to anaheim's 2nd OA, I chose Zegras over troy terry because I think his trade value is much higher, and I was saying trading zegras to san jose to get eklund/1st/forgot who else at the moment.Yeah, Grier doesn't instill too much confidence. The Meier trade was not great value returned.
