So Larkin missing 50 games means Detroit finishes with 65 or less points? Because that’s the competition at the bottom.
Yeah.
Look, Copp is nice. But he's nowhere near a first line center.

If Larkin misses 5-10 games - fine.
But 40-50? The Wings are screwed.

Bertuzzi-Larkin make the offense happen, and despite Bert's Wowy numbers, I think Larkin is still the engine of this team

2 seasons ago both Larkin and Bertuzzi were missing. Vrana pick up and help

Two years ago when Vrana played 11 games or whatever? All After April 15 - when everyone saw Detroit as a night off?
If you think this team can get anywhere with Copp-Suter-Rasmussen-Veleno as your centers, I think you're out to lunch on this issue.

Detroit cannot afford to lose Larkin for an extended period of time.

Copp timed his career high (53 points) nicely to get his payday. But he's so, so far away from being a 1C.

WAR roster builder seems to count -5 point drop if we play a whole season without Larkin.

Larkin <-- Copp
Copp <--- Suter
Suter <--- Veleno
Rasmussen = Rasmussen

So Red Wings went from current 104-point maximum to 99 points.

Would not mind hopping on the Halttunen wagon early for this draft. This Finland team at the Hlinka has some big players on it.

I really like Brayden Yager too.

Is the Hlinka being posted on youtube this year?

On the realgud scale, how realgud is this kid?
Top 15 pick for sure. Playing in a B tier junior league though so hard to gauge how good he is, but he is one of the best players in that league already as a 16 year old, playing against 21 year olds...

Shame he didn't move to the CHL so he can challenge himself more.

Canada vs Sweden tonight at 9 EST, should be a good one to watch.

Going to keep an eye on Stenberg and then a bunch of the Canadians.

The Captain will probably try to get a few more draft picks for next year even if they are in the later rounds. Hronek could garner a 1st if someone needs a RHD for the playoffs.

Man part of me hopes this season is a disaster because a top 5 pick here will cement the core. There look to be 5-6 franchise players possible here in Michkov, Bedard, Yager, Carlsson and Fantilli.

Where's the cut-off even?

After Bedard/Michkov/Fantili you have a group of a bunch of really good players that is pretty deep ---
Yager, Benson, Carlsson, Stenberg, Wood, Halttunen, Sale, and a bunch of others.

Careful, dude. We're one Seider injury away to a below average blueline. Don't put that evil on us again!

Seider will never get injured, ever, in his whole career.

Still. I think we should tank for two more years. What's this one more year crap? I want that cement extra hard. Get a sealant on that bitch.

We've already determined that for this team to be successful the ENTIRE roster needs to be top 10 picks. And a couple of others on Grand Rapids need to be top 10 guys to provide depth when we need to call people up.

30 more years of tanking, MINIMUM.

Back to the draft...

I've been watching what I can find about many of the guys ranked 4 to 15 in this draft and I am really having trouble thinking about which guys in the 2022 top 10 would be ahead of them. Slafkovsy who was #1 on my list would probably go #6 in 2023.

This draft is super deep in the top 20 and looks like one of those era defining drafts like the 1979, 1988, 2003, 2015.
